76ers sign Lonnie Walker IV

Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has signed Lonnie Walker IV.

Walker IV joins the 76ers after a 33-game stint (23 starts) with Žalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League and the EuroLeague in which he averaged 13.5 points on 40.0-percent shooting from three-point range, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. He reached the 20-point mark five times and connected on at least three triples on 13 occasions this season.

A native of Reading, Pennsylvania, Walker IV has averaged 9.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 322 games across six NBA seasons with San Antonio, the Los Angeles Lakers, and Brooklyn. He was originally selected by the Spurs with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

His professional career followed one collegiate season at Miami (FL), where he averaged a team-best 11.5 points per game and 2.6 rebounds en route to an ACC All-Freshman Team selection. The Hurricanes compiled a 22-10 record and earned a No. 6 seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament as Walker appeared in 32 games, making 18 starts. Prior to Miami, he was named a 2017 McDonald’s All-American and voted Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball following his career at Reading Senior High School.

Walker IV will wear No. 16 for the 76ers.

Pelicans waive Javonte Green

The New Orleans Pelicans have waived guard/forward Javonte Green.

Green, 6-4, 220, originally signed with New Orleans on August 22, 2024. He appeared in 50 games (18 starts) for the Pelicans this season, averaging 5.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists in 21.8 minutes per game.

In six NBA seasons with Boston, Chicago and New Orleans, Green holds career averages of 5.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game (245 games). Prior to the NBA, the Petersburg, Va. native played four seasons at Radford University while averaging 14.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.7 blocks in 25.4 minutes across 133 games (122 starts).

Jazz sign Jaden Springer to 10-day contract

The Utah Jazz have signed guard Jaden Springer to a 10-day contract.

Springer (6-4, 204, Tennessee) is in his fourth NBA season, having competed in 93 games (four starts) with the Philadelphia 76ers (2021-23) and Boston Celtics (2023-25).

Drafted in the first round with the 28th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft by the 76ers, Springer has additional professional experience in the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats and Maine Celtics, appearing in 44 regular season games (42 starts) with averages of 17.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He helped the Delaware Blue Coats to a 2022-23 G League Championship victory where he was named Finals MVP.

A native of Charlotte, N.C., he played one collegiate season at Tennessee (2020-21), seeing action in 25 games (15 starts) with averages of 12.5 points on 46.7 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from beyond the arc, along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.2 steals in 25.9 minutes per game.

Victor Wembanyama out for season due to medical issue in shoulder

The San Antonio Spurs today announced that Victor Wembanyama has been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder.

The condition was discovered when Wembanyama returned to San Antonio following the All-Star Game in San Francisco.

Wembanyama is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 regular season.

Per the Mayo Clinic website, “deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot (thrombus) forms in one or more of the deep veins in the body, usually in the legs.”

Per the Washington Post, “the Spurs hope Wembanyama will be ready to return for the start of the 2025-26 season, according to people with knowledge of the situation. Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram and Detroit Pistons guard Ausar Thompson received similar diagnoses in recent years, and both returned to the court after making full recoveries.”

Per the San Antonio Express-News, “the 7-foot-3 center, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft who is a leading candidate to become the face of the league after LeBron James retires, competed in his first All-Star Game last weekend in San Francisco. Wembanyama was averaging 22.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, a league-best 3.8 blocks and 1.2 steals per game this season and was the leading candidate in the race for Defensive Player of the Year honors.”

Nets sign Tyrese Martin and Killian Hayes, waive Bojan Bogdanovic

The Brooklyn Nets have signed forward Tyrese Martin to a multi-year contract and guard Killian Hayes to a 10-day contract.

In a related transaction, the Nets have requested waivers on forward Bojan Bogdanovic.

Martin’s (6’6″, 215) contract was previously converted to a two-way deal on Oct. 19, 2024, after he originally joined Brooklyn on Sept. 20, 2024. The 25-year-old has appeared in 36 games (six starts) with the Nets this season and holds averages of 7.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 21.0 minutes per contest. He has recorded 10 or more points 12 times, including a career-high 30 points at Phoenix on Nov. 27, and has drained multiple 3-pointers in 13 contests. In six games as a starter, Martin has averaged 10.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists over 31.5 minutes per game. The Allentown, Pa., native spent last season with the Iowa Wolves of the NBA G League and saw action in 16 games with the Atlanta Hawks during the 2022-23 campaign. Martin was selected 51st overall in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors before Atlanta acquired his draft rights. He spent two seasons at the University of Rhode Island (2018-20) before finishing his collegiate career at the University of Connecticut (2020-22), where he earned 2022 All-Big East Tournament honors as a senior.

Hayes (6’5″, 210) has appeared in and started 13 regular season games this season with the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s NBA G League affiliate, and averaged 21.0 points on 49.5 percent shooting from the field, 40.3 percent shooting from 3-point range and 77.3 percent shooting from the free-throw line, 5.5 rebounds, 8.3 assists (fifth in the NBA G League) and a league-leading 2.8 steals in 35.6 minutes per contest. Hayes also saw action in 15 Tip-Off Tournament games (all starts) with Long Island and recorded averages of 13.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.8 steals in 32.3 minutes per game. The 23-year-old previously signed with Brooklyn on Sept. 20, 2024, before being waived on Oct. 19, 2024. In 210 NBA games (145 starts) over four seasons (2020-24) with the Detroit Pistons, Hayes holds career averages of 8.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.2 steals in 26.1 minutes per contest. The native of France was selected seventh overall by Detroit in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Bogdanović was acquired via trade on July 6, 2024, from New York and did not appear in any games this season while rehabilitating a left foot injury.

LA Clippers, city of Los Angeles will host 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend

The LA Clippers and the city of Los Angeles are next up and will host NBA All-Star 2026. The 75th NBA All-Star Game will take place at Intuit Dome in Inglewood on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026. This will mark the record seventh NBA All-Star in Los Angeles, and the first time Intuit Dome will host the annual midseason showcase reaching fans in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 50 languages.

Prior to tonight’s NBA All-Star Championship Game at Chase Center, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry and LA Clippers guard James Harden met at center court in front of a star symbolizing the official passing of NBA All-Star hosting duties.

After the ceremonial handoff moment, the NBA and the Clippers unveiled the logos for the 2026 NBA All-Star festivities.

“Clipper Nation, we ready. Intuit Dome – it’s gonna be live in there. I’m excited for the world to get an opportunity to see how beautiful that establishment is,” said Harden. “We’re a year out – we’re ready now – but we’ve got a year to prepare, and make sure it’s flawless for everybody to see.”

NBA All-Star on-court events will tip off on Friday, Feb. 13 at Intuit Dome with NBA Rising Stars, an annual showcase for top rookies and second-year NBA players. On Feb. 14, State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will feature the Kia Skills Challenge, the Starry 3-Point Challenge and AT&T Slam Dunk. NBA All-Star 2026 will culminate with the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 15.

The NBA will host several events for fans of all ages at venues throughout Los Angeles and Inglewood, including at Kia Forum and the Los Angeles Convention Center. These events, including NBA All-Star Practice presented by AT&T, the Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and an NBA All-Star fan fest, will feature basketball programming and entertainment for fans as well as up-close access to NBA players, legends and celebrities.

The league will also continue to celebrate its commitment to social responsibility with a full schedule of NBA Cares events during NBA All-Star 2026. Through partnerships with schools, local and national nonprofit organizations, the league will reach thousands of children and families in Los Angeles, Inglewood and the surrounding areas and provide critical resources to community-based programs.

Mavericks sign center Moses Brown to 10-day contract

The Dallas Mavericks have signed center Moses Brown to a 10-day contract.

Brown (7-2, 258) holds career averages of 5.1 points (.566 FG%), 4.8 rebounds and 11.6 minutes per game in 159 games, including 44 starts, with the Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavaliers, L.A. Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Indiana Pacers.

The 25-year-old has spent the 2024-25 season split between the G League’s Westchester Knicks and Indiana Pacers. In 17 regular-season games, all starts, for Westchester this year, Brown averaged 15.6 points (.581 FG%), a league-high 15.2 rebounds, 0.9 blocks and 30.5 minutes en route to being selected to the G League Next Up Game. He was also named the NBA G League Player of the Month for games played in January after averaging 16.7 points and 16.4 rebounds during the month.

Brown signed with Indiana on Nov. 20 and saw action in nine games for the Pacers, averaging 3.2 points (.650 FG%) and 1.4 rebounds in 5.1 minutes, before being waived by the Pacers on Dec. 9 and re-joining Westchester.

The sixth-year center returns for his second stint with Dallas after appearing in 26 games, including one start, for the Mavericks in 2021-22. He was acquired by the Mavericks from the Boston Celtics in exchange for guard Josh Richardson on July 31, 2021. He averaged 3.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in those 26 contests.

After going undrafted in 2019, Brown signed a Two-Way contract with Portland on Oct. 17, 2019. He appeared in nine games for the Trail Blazers as a rookie in 2019-20 while also seeing action in 30 games for the Mavericks’ G League affiliate, the Texas Legends, that year. The following season, Brown garnered 2020-21 All-NBA G League First Team and NBA G League All-Defensive Team honors for the Oklahoma City Blue.

A native of New York City, Brown played one collegiate season at UCLA and earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honors for the Bruins in 2018-19.

Brown will wear No. 9 for the Mavericks, the same number he wore in his previous stint with the franchise.

Cavaliers sign forward Nae’Qwan Tomlin to 10-day contract

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed forward Nae’Qwan Tomlin to a 10-day contract, Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman announced today.

Tomlin (6-8, 205) has appeared in 35 games (22 starts) this season for the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ exclusively owned and operated NBA G League affiliate, averaging 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocks in 28.6 minutes. He has recorded some key performances this season with the Charge, including a career-high 37 points on 13-24 (.541) shooting from the field, a career-high five made three-pointers to go with 11 rebounds and four blocks in 41 minutes on February 7th versus the Westchester Knicks.

A native of Harlem, New York, Tomlin went undrafted after playing collegiately at Memphis (2023-24), Kansas State (2022-23), Chipola College in the NJCAA (2020-22) and Monroe Community College (2019-20). In 57 games (45 starts) at the Division I level (2022-24), including an Elite Eight appearance with Kansas State in 2022-23, he averaged 11.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.04 steals and 1.04 blocks in 27.0 minutes. During his senior season at Memphis in 2023-24, Tomlin played in 21 games (11 starts) with averages of 14.1 points on .601 shooting from the field, 6.0 rebounds and 1.14 blocks in 26.7 minutes. He also appeared in five games as a member of the Cavaliers 2024 Summer League team.

Tomlin will wear jersey #30 for the Cavaliers.

Bulls sign Jahmir Young, waive Adama Sanogo

The Chicago Bulls gave signed guard Jahmir Young to a two-way contract.

In a subsequent move, the team waived center Adama Sanogo.

Young, 6-2, 185, has spent the 2024-25 season with the Denver Nuggets G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold, tallying averages of 22.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 2.1 steals in 34.5 minutes across 30 games (24 starts) during the regular season and Tip-Off Tournament. Young recorded seven double-doubles and scored 25-plus points in eight games, including a career-high 40 points and 10 assists against the Capital City Go-Go on Feb. 12.

An Upper Marlboro, Md. native, Young played collegiately at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2019-22) and the University of Maryland (2022-24). He earned the Conference USA (CUSA) Rookie of the Year Award and was named to the CUSA All-Freshman Team and All-CUSA Third Team in 2019-20, along with consecutive All-CUSA First Team laurels in his sophomore and junior seasons with the 49ers.

At Maryland, Young averaged 18.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.3 steals in 33.3 minutes across 67 games (all starts) while garnering All-Big Ten Second Teams honors as voted by coaches in consecutive seasons (2022-24) and an All-Big First Team selection through media voting in 2023-24.

Sanogo appeared in 13 career games for Chicago over the last two seasons (2023-25), totaling averages of 3.4 points and 3.2 rebounds in 6.7 minutes per game. Through 40 career regular season games (39 starts) with Windy City, Sanogo posted 20.4 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 29.4 minutes per contest.
