Pelicans sign Jordan Hamilton to 10-day contract

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed forward Jordan Hamilton to a 10-day contract. This brings their team roster to 17. They were able to exceed the usual 15-player maximum after receiving an injury hardship exception from the NBA.

The 6-7, 220-pound Hamilton most recently played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League), appearing in 14 games and averaging 14.9 points on .497 shooting from the floor, 9.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 29.2 minutes per outing.

Selected 26th overall by Dallas in the 2011 NBA Draft out of the University of Texas, Hamilton has appeared in 140 career regular season games with Denver, Houston and the Los Angeles Clippers, holding averages of 5.5 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.8 minutes per contest.

Hamilton will wear #25 for the Pelicans.

His signing marks the 36th “Call-Up” from the D-League this season.

The Pelicans are 26-45 this season and have been a huge disappointment, partially due to their level of play but certainly injuries played a huge factor in their struggle. The team recently announced that star forward Anthony Davis won’t play again this season. Davis recently had knee surgery, while playing through a long-time shoulder injury.

Clippers waive Jordan Hamilton

The L.A. Clippers announced today the team has waived forward Jordan Hamilton.

Hamilton appeared in 14 games with the Clippers last season, making two starts and averaging 2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 8.7 minutes.

The Los Angeles native originally signed a 10-day contract with the Clippers on Feb. 24, 2015. He has appeared in 140 career regular season games with Denver, Houston and the Clippers.

Raptors sign Jordan Hamilton

The Toronto Raptors announced Monday they have signed forward-guard Jordan Hamilton.

Hamilton, 6-foot-7, 220 pounds, averaged 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 17.0 minutes in 60 games (12 starts) last season with Denver and Houston. He scored in double figures 20 times, including a season-high 19 points November 8 at Phoenix. The Rockets acquired Hamilton from the Nuggets on February 20 in exchange for Aaron Brooks.

A product of University of Texas, Hamilton was selected 26th overall by Dallas in the 2011 NBA Draft. His rights were traded on draft night to Denver as part of a three-team deal involving Portland. In 126 career games (15 starts), he has averaged 5.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 13.3 minutes, while shooting .358 (114-for-318) from three-point range.

Nuggets face upcoming decision on Jordan Hamilton

The Nuggets have a more difficult decision to make on [Jordan] Hamilton. He has a team option that needs to be picked up by Oct. 31. Picking up that option will guarantee Hamilton is back and paid more than $2 million next season. But, the Nuggets have to ask themselves whether that is a cost-effective move.

Hamilton plays small forward — where the Nuggets have Danilo Gallinari (when he returns from a torn ACL), Wilson Chandler, Miller and Anthony Randolph, who has opened eyes in training camp. This decision, then, ultimately comes down to if the Nuggets A) see him in their future and/or B) want to retain him as an asset that can be used for trade purposes.
