Raptors sign Colin Castleton to second 10-day contract

The Toronto Raptors have signed center Colin Castleton to a second 10-day contract.

Castleton, 6-foot-11, 250 pounds, appeared in five games (two starts) with the Raptors during his first 10-day contract with the Raptors (Mar. 6-15), averaging 7.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.0 blocks and 27.8 minutes. He scored career-high 13 points Mar. 14 at Utah and in his first career start, Castleton recorded a career-best 14 rebounds along with seven points and three blocks in 40 minutes Mar. 12 against Philadelphia. In 15 games with Toronto and Memphis this season, Castleton has posted averages of 3.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 12.4 minutes. He was waived by the Grizzlies on Jan. 10 after signing a two-way contract prior to the 2024-25 season.

A native of DeLand, Florida, Castleton holds career averages of 2.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 7.9 minutes in 31 games with the LA Lakers, Memphis and Toronto. Prior to the NBA, Castleton played two seasons (2018-20) at Michigan before transferring to Florida (2020-23) where he earned All-SEC First Team and Defensive Team honours as a fifth-year senior.

Sixers sign Chuma Okeke to 10-day contract

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Chuma Okeke to a 10-day contract.

Okeke appeared in one game with the 76ers earlier this season after signing a 10-day contract on Feb. 7.

Originally selected by Orlando in the first round (16th overall) of the 2019 NBA Draft, Okeke holds career averages of 6.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 20.2 minutes played in 190 games (55 starts) with Orlando and Philadelphia.

Okeke has played in 25 games (all starts) with the Westchester Knicks of the NBA G League in 2024-25, averaging 18.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocked shots. He has reached the 15-point mark in 18 of his 25 contests, including a pair of 30-point outings on Jan. 22 against Raptors 905 and on Feb. 25 against the Long Island Nets.

Prior to his professional career, Okeke competed in two collegiate seasons at Auburn from 2017-19, earning SEC All-Tournament Team honors after leading the Tigers to the conference crown in 2019. He was later selected to the NCAA Midwest Regional All-Tournament Team after averaging 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.3 assists, and 1.0 blocks en route to an Elite Eight appearance.

Nets guard Cam Thomas out for season with hamstring injury

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain. The injury occurred during Thursday night’s game at Chicago. Given the number of days remaining in the schedule and the time needed to appropriately recover, it is expected that Thomas will miss the remainder of the season.

In 25 appearances this season, Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 31.2 minutes per game. The 23-year-old tallied a team-leading six 30-point performances, including a season-high 43 points at New York on Nov. 15. Thomas notched his first career double-double with 24 points, six rebounds and a career-high 10 assists in 32 minutes at Chicago on March 13.

Grizzlies sign Lamar Stevens for remainder of season

The Memphis Grizzlies have signed forward Lamar Stevens for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Stevens (6-6, 230) has come off the bench in six games for the Grizzlies this season and has averaged 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 9.9 minutes after signing the first of consecutive 10-day contracts on February 21. He scored a season-high 13 points, including a career-high four 3-pointers, in a win on March 10 vs. Phoenix.

The Grizzlies signed the 27-year-old as a Call-Up from the NBA G League’s Motor City Cruise, where he played 29 games and averaged 17.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocks in 34.1 minutes.

Unselected in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Penn State, Stevens has competed in 209 games (41 starts) and has averaged 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.6 minutes in five seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Grizzlies. He appeared in 19 games (two starts) for Memphis last season following a trade from Boston and averaged 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 23.0 minutes.

Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox out for season with finger injury

San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox will undergo surgery to repair the extensor tendon in his left fifth finger and will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Fox sustained the injury during training camp in October while with the Sacramento Kings and has played through the tendon damage all season, including since being acquired by San Antonio on February 3.

The surgery will be performed on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Fox is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the start of next season.

Hawks sign Dominick Barlow to multi-year contract

The Atlanta Hawks recently signed forward Dominick Barlow to a multi-year contract.

Signed to a two-way contract by the Hawks on July 30, 2024, Barlow has seen action in 19 games (three starts) this season, averaging 3.1 points and 1.6 rebounds in 8.1 minutes. He owns two double-digit scoring outings this season (Jan. 23 vs. Toronto, Feb. 1 at Indiana) and recorded a career-high tying three blocks on Feb. 5 against the San Antonio Spurs.

The 6-10 forward appeared in 18 games (all starts) with the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League this season, averaging 20.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 blocks in 32.5 minutes (.574 FG%, .729 FT%). In his Skyhawks debut on Nov. 8, Barlow posted 23 points, eight rebounds, one assist and five blocks. His five rejections marked the most by a Skyhawk in his College Park debut.

Undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, Barlow has seen action in 81 career games (four starts) across three NBA seasons with San Antonio (2022-24) and Atlanta (2024-25), averaging 3.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.1 minutes (.508 FG%). He also owns three seasons of NBA G League experience with the Austin Spurs (2022-24) and College Park (2024-25), averaging 17.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.3 blocks and 30.0 minutes in 71 games (61 starts).

Prior to the NBA, Barlow spent the 2021-22 season playing in the Overtime Elite League with Team Overtime, averaging 14.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks in 25.2 minutes. With his NBA debut on Nov. 2, 2022, against the Toronto Raptors, he became the first player from Overtime Elite to participate in an NBA game.
