Anthony Randolph re-signs in Spain

Here’s Eurocupbasketball.com reporting the latest on former NBA power forward Anthony Randolph, who continues to play pro bball in Spain:

Real Madrid reached a new agreement with forward Anthony Randolph to keep working together next season, the club announced Thursday. Randolph (2.11 meters, 27 years old) averaged 10.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 34 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games last season, helping Madrid reach the Final Four. He also lifted the Spanish Copa del Rey trophy with Madrid last season, his first with his current team. Randolph was named to the 2015-16 All-EuroLeague Second Team after posting 14.5 points and 6 rebounds over 23 games for Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar that season, helping it reach the Final Four.

Bulls trade Anthony Randolph to Magic

The Orlando Magic have acquired two future second round draft picks (2015, 2016), cash considerations and the contract of forward Anthony Randolph from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for the draft rights to forward Milovan Rakovic, General Manager Rob Hennigan announced today. In addition, Orlando intends to waive Randolph.

The draft rights to Rakovic (6’10”, 280, 2/19/85) were acquired by Orlando, along with cash considerations, from Dallas in exchange for the draft rights to Reyshawn Terry on June 28, 2007. He has played his entire professional career overseas.

Anthony Randolph has been pleasant surprise in Nuggets training camp

The days became months and years, and Anthony Randolph was beginning to square himself with the fact that a legitimate chance to play significant minutes might never come again.

So forgive him if he was a little skeptical when new Nuggets coach Brian Shaw arrived in town preaching competition all over the court.

But a funny thing happened: Shaw wasn’t playing. The competition was on. And because of that, something else is happening: Randolph is playing himself into the lineup.

He arguably has been the biggest surprise of camp, though he’ll tell you he has always had it in him. Signed by the Nuggets in 2012 for depth, he’s making a serious push to be in the regular rotation when the season begins in eight days.
