InsideHoops.com reports that the practice select squad, which will help Team USA prepare for real competition, includes: LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland Trail Blazers); Aaron Brooks (Houston Rockets); Monta Ellis (Golden State Warriors); Channing Frye (Portland Trail Blazers); Jeff Green (Seattle SuperSonics); Devin Harris (Dallas Mavericks); Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers); Al Jefferson (Minnesota Timberwolves); Jason Kapono (Toronto Raptors); and David Lee (New York Knicks).
Various reports have named pretty much all these players already, but now it’s official.
Jason Kapono, Aaron Brooks?????????? Where is Ben Gordon?
I think i’d rather see these guys rep america than the current bunch of egos who will end up being our representatives. Guys like All Jeff, Andre Ig, David Lee, Harris, Jeff Green, Aldridge, etc. are unselfish team oriented guys who would easily annihilate any international competition with ball movement and smart play.
They should get to BE team USA if they beat team USA consistently which they very well might….
Everyone watch out….Aaron Brooks will show everyone up!
I understand most of the players there except Kapono and unproven players Brooks and Green. Why not players like Josh Smith, Okafor, and TJ Ford?
I hope that this guys can jell immediately and will be given a good coach. It will be fun to see this young talents give Team USA some good games. Hopefully, they can adopt immediately in playing the zone so, that the preparation of team USA will not be in vain.
We’ve already proven that “team-oriented” (ugh, now there is an over used phrase) young guys doesn’t work, just look at all our USA youth teams.
I always have liked Aaron Brooks and if given the chance he seems like an Allen Iverson type player small but, able to get to the rim
to Pat: Ben Gordon is British? i think he will play in the 2012 olympics for britain
2 the person who wrote “Jason Kapono, Aaron Brooks?????????? Where is Ben Gordon?” If u knew anything he would only play 4 England. Dont leave a comment if u have no clue as 2 what u r talking about. I hate people who think they know basketball!
The Chosen 1: You think you know about basketball? Did you play in college? Are you a pro? If not, then I clearly know much more than you.
Yes, Ben Gordon was born in England, but he grew up in the Bronx and Mt. Vernon, New York. He is American. I’ve seen interviews where Gordon laughs when he is asked about being from England. 2012 is a long way away. This is for a practice squad…I was just commenting that they could have selected some better players.
Pat now i know 4 sure u know nothing about basketball cuz all ben has done is say that 1 day he would love to play 4 england when the time is right. So stop making up fake interviews 2 make yourself sound like u know what u r talking about cuz u dont. As 4 your argument that if i am not a pro or college basketball player then i cant know more than u about ball that’s almost as dumb as u “sayin what about gordon?” 4 a spot on the national team……but nothing can top that now can it.
SORRY PAT YOUR A LOSER!
