Aug 23rd, 2007 by Inside Hoops
InsideHoops.com NewsWire: The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent center Larry Turner, it was announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
Turner, a 6-11 center from Tennessee State, averaged 5.8 points and 6.1 rebounds as a senior.
Turner played for the Lakers 2007 Summer-Pro League team, averaging 7.4 points and 5.2 rebounds in five games.
InsideHoops.com editor says: I have no idea who he is. This is probably not a championship-clinching signing. Someone needs to go find Kobe and videotape his reaction to the news.
he will be ready for the game! you havent seen him in vegas, he can pass, he has the eyes and reflexes, he has better hands than kwame, cook and bynum. very underated phil got another scottie!
kobe will be happy with him
now they can trade cook’s ego!
Larry friggin Turner. Are you kiddin’ me. This kids gonna be better than Bill Russell. Lakers are in the finals!!! Go Luke.
i hope he is good
This is hopefully a precursor of things to come. Lakers add another
big man (C. Mihm earlier), so that Andrew Bynum , Kwame Brown and Bryon Cook can be packaged in a deal for Jermaine O’neil. There may be a
method to Mitch’s madness!
Now they can trade Cook and Kwame and get J. O’neal.
What the hell larry who!!! I think cupcake should be cut period.what are the lakers doing?let’s go kobe you are done.
A late comment on KG. There is no way the Lakers could have gotten KG. The Boston Celtic mafia had a lock on KG. Remember, Ainge and McHale were teammates who are interested in reviving at the right time the Celtics dynasty. And don’t forget Larry Bird of the J. O’Neal issue. If I were Larry, I won’t send O’Neal to the Lakers yet.
Kobe, you just have to make do with what you have. It will be to your credit if you can bring the Lakers with the crew you have to at least the championship round. By then I will not be surprised if the Lakers pull the impossible.
I think know we can definitly be a little happier by getting another big man and not only that he’s young and good so Brown, Bynum, Cook for O’Neal anybody or some other player that can make a huge impact well i guess we shall see!!!!!
Happy for the Lakers now this guy going to have to prove himself to Kobe and the Lakers administration, GO LAKERS!
Lucky Lakers! That boy is strong and he got footwork.
i dnt care what none of yaw say lakers is takin it dis year
all i can say is better watch for this kid. he had training in the philippines before under kirk collier. he will definitely be a big help to the lakers’ continuing saga…… kobe will be happy with his transaction…..
They’re just getting these no name players so they can build up a trade for J.O.
Lakers Trade some players for J onel and Jason Kidd and kobe will be happy .Lakers Know who to trade.
Mitch Cupcake may be the worst GM in NBA history. Larry who???? are you kidding me. Cupcake is clueless. No wonder Kobe wants out.
