Spurs waive James White
Jul 23rd, 2007 by Inside Hoops
InsideHoops.com: The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have waived guard/forward James White, a high-flyer who has been famous since high school for his incredible leaping and dunking ability.
White joined the Spurs as a free agent on November 3, 2006. He appeared in six games, averaging 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 22.8 minutes per game. The former University of Cincinnati Bearcat made his NBA debut on March 26 at Golden State where he finished with nine points and three rebounds in 15 minutes.
White spent part of the season with Austin Toros of the NBA Development League where he saw action in 15 games, averaging 16.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
i’am very upset with taht new . White it’s a very talented guy with a excellent body ready to the pros. and his abilities are too best than others players in the league >> see the future of the franchise not only the present Duncan and Parker are now carring the team but when you stop the new faces you in 5 yaers are a too old team for the league … The puertorican>>>Proud to be part of us….love USA….ERIC LAURENCE THE NEXT STAR…
Prepare for Marcus Williams.
I am a little disappointed by this and other moves the Spurs have made this off-season. They are in fact the best team over the last 10-11 years but you cannot always depend on old veterans to get the job done. Yes it has worked every other year but I want them to repeat and you repeat by blending old talent with new talent. James White is an athletic beast there are many ways that he could have been used. Lob plays and back doors he would thrive in those types of plays. I hope the Spurs saw what happened to Miami this year, basically they brought the same old team back and got thrashed on. White can learn how to play better defensive and cloud develop a decant jumper with work. Another move that puzzled me was the trade to the rockets, which spurs should have gotten more out of that deal. Scola has the potential to make an impact for that team and Butler will go and prolly end up like Eddie Curry a few years done the line. The spurs really need another to wing player that can rotate in play defensive, slash, and most importantly hit the three. This Ime Udoka move needs to get done along with another swing position guy. Now to the draft I honestly don’t mind the Splitter pick but I think he would have been there in the early part of the second round. As for the Williams pick I believe that the spurs should taken Alando Tucker with that 28th pick and splitter with there second. I think Williams will go but he isn’t as ready as tucker will be for phoenix. overall I love my spurs and I think we set ourselves up to make some big moves next off-season with the three 2nd round draft picks and some extra cash and due to the fact that there will be a clean house move. But I really disagree with waiving a guy that can jump out of the jump and that has that type of athleticism.

A move that I really think the Spurs should give a thought is to move Beno and get something for him because it doesn’t look like he has a big future with the team. But I really disagree with waiving a guy that can jump out of the jump and that has that type of athleticism unless we have something big in the works.
