it's better to be warm when you stretch, easier to activate all you muscles this way.
there is a lot of research on this.
dynamic before (5 secs then relax and then repeat 8-10 times per stretch)
after a game, long stretches 20-30 secs 2 or 3 times per stretch
I guarantee if you follow that if you are pretty stiff you will be a lot more limber when you play and you'll be a lot less sore after some of the more rough games
