Default Why are the Sixers better individually than as a team?

Was it Mo Cheeks' fault?

Or are the individual talents on the Sixers not a good mesh for each other?

I think they are not a good mesh. Philly got outrebounded in most of this season games, Korver does not play any defense, Iverson is not a true PG although is high assist average and Dalembert has not developed his skills. I think a SF like Jared Jeffries could help a lot, and a backup PG better than Ollie to let Iverson play some SG.
Anyway, I think Mo Cheeks could have handled the situation better.

I don't think its fair to blame Cheeks entirely, but everyone is responsible to a certain extent. To me, they just didn't have that desire to win. Aside from a few games they didn't look very determined to come out with the W. Allen Iverson on the other hand does anything possible to get a win, but even his character was questionable at times during the season.

There is no bench. Really only 3 starters you can count on consistantly. One of those is Iguodala, who you can only count on consistantly in terms of defense, rebounding, and passing. His scoring and shooting is very inconsistant. Webber also has injury problems. Sometimes his knees bother him and he doesn't play well. So really, you can only count on Iverson. And even Iverson is one of the biggest streak shooters basketball has ever seen. Out of the starters, only Iguodala is a strong defender. Dalembert blocks shots, but it's not always the same thing. Korver, Webber, Iverson, and Dalembert are bad defenders (Iverson is the best defensively out of that group). And the coaching wasn't anything special.

I don't think it is far to blame Cheeks. The players just don't fit in great with eachother. AI is a great scorer, but he isn't a true point guard. He has a tendency to shoot too much and at times it seems like players stand around watching him. He also can become a liabilty on defense. The other AI is a strong defender, but he needs to work on his offensive game. His jump shot is very inconsistent. Korver is a great shooter, but he doesn't do much else. His defense is terrible. To give him credit he tries hard on D but he just isn't capable of playing good D. Webber has turned into mainly just a jump shooter. He's not the same C-Webb. He relies too much on his midrange jumper instead of taking it downlow, probably because of injuries. And lastly, Dalembert is a waste of size. He blocks shots, but that's about it. On offense, basically if he's not dunking the ball, he's not gonna score. On defense, he tries to block shots so often that he gets called for a ton of goaltends (led the league with 24 goaltends last season). He's a good off the ball defender in a sense, because his long wingspan and jumping ability help him block shots, but he's not a great one-on-one defender. Lastly, the Sixers really have no bench. AI and Webber at times are really the only two guys on the team that you can give the ball and expect them to be able to take their defender and score. Iguodala should be able to be another one of those guys but it doesn't seem like he has progresses a lot and he gets limited touches. Korver (except for his 3 ball) and Dalembert are weak on offense and Iguodala is the team's only good overal defender (Dalembert can be at times). The Sixers only hope is if they trade AI and try to start over. He's getting older, and once he loses his quickness, his game will start to breakdown. If the Sixers keep AI, they won't have a chance in hell to win a title with him.

Oh, it's fair to put a good amount of blame on Mo. He really isn't a good coach. There were a number of games lost this year in the 4th quarter because of his decision making and his obsession with the small line-up.

Obviously you have to put blame on the players, but I'd blame King as much I'd blame them. You had guys put in roles that they didn't belong in and you lost two veteran players for literally nothing in return, of course that's as much Comcast's fault for wanting to be under the luxury tax.

Default ...

Thier role players are only good at one trait. Korver shoots well, nothing else, Delambert blocks, nothing else, and the rest try to do an AI impression(Salmons, Green, Williams)
