Mo Williams still adjusting to Cavs

The Cleveland Plain Dealer (Brian Windhorst) reports:  The Cavaliers aren’t off to a great start at 1-2 heading into tonight’s game against the Mavericks, but the sky certainly isn’t falling. Yet Mo Williams, touted far and wide as the injection the Cavs needed, seems to be taking the offense’s somewhat shaky start hard. It has only been three games, two of them on the road at juggernauts Boston and New Orleans, and Williams hasn’t played all that poorly, averaging 13.3 points and 4.3 assists. But his body language and comments hint he seems to be putting quite a bit of pressure on himself to perform, an affirmation of his competitive nature. “Personally, I’m just not there yet. I’m still trying to get comfortable,” Williams said. “I’m trying not to lose any sleep over it. Tomorrow is a new day.”

Nov 2: Bucks 94, Knicks 86

The AP reports: Richard Jefferson and Ramon Sessions each scored 18 points, and the Bucks used a strong defensive effort to shake off Michael Redd’s injury and beat the Knicks 94-86 on Sunday night. Redd added 16 points, making all three 3-point attempts, before leaving with a sprained right ankle with Milwaukee leading by 16 late in the third quarter. Charlie Villanueva also scored 16, while Andrew Bogut had 13 points and 11 rebounds… Quentin Richardson had 28 points and nine rebounds for the Knicks, who have shot under 38 percent in their past two games, making D’Antoni’s offensive system look awful. With Stephon Marbury again inactive, they went scoreless for more than 3 1/2 minutes to start the third quarter and never recovered. They clanged jumpers, botched layups and finished at 37 percent for the game.

InsideHoops.com Stat Notes: For the Knicks, Q-Rich shot 11-of-18 for his 28 points and 9 rebounds. Zach Randolph (just 6-of-17) had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Nate Robinson on 11 shots had 14 points, 5 rebounds but more turnovers than assists off the bench. Chris Duhon did little. Jamal Crawford was an awful 0-for-6 for 1 point and 4 assists. David Lee played 20 minutes and did almost nothing. For the Bucks, all five starters scored in double figures, plus Luc Richard Mbah a Moute had 11 off the bench.

Nov 1: Raptors 91, Bucks 87

The AP reports: Jose Calderon scored a career-high 25 points, including a huge 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter, and the Toronto Raptors won their third straight with a 91-87 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night… Calderon was 8-of-15 from the floor, including 3-of-4 on 3-pointers and made all six free throws. He also added nine assists… Chris Bosh had 20 points and 10 rebounds, Jamario Moon added 15 points, and O’Neal and Anthony Parker each had 11 as the Raptors spoiled new Bucks coach Scott Skiles’ home debut and gave Toronto a 3-0 start for the first time since 2004-05. Michael Redd had 19 points but missed a shot from the corner in the closing seconds that could have tied the game. Andrew Bogut had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Ramon Sessions added 12 points in his first game of the season.

Oct 29: Bucks 98, Thunder 87

The AP reports: Michael Redd, Richard Jefferson and Charlie Villanueva each scored 20 points and the Milwaukee Bucks gave Oklahoma City’s sellout crowd little hope about by spoiling the Thunder’s debut with a 98-87 win on Wednesday night… Oklahoma City started 2-for-12 from the field and never led, falling behind 20-9 and then watching Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant come out of the game with early foul trouble… Andrew Bogut added 14 points and Bell scored 11 for Milwaukee. Villanueva also had 12 rebounds. Chris Wilcox led Oklahoma City with 15 points off the bench, first-round pick Russell Westbrook scored 13 in his debut and Durant finished with 12 on 5-for-14 shooting.

Oct 28: Bulls 108, Bucks 95

The AP reports: Luol Deng and Ben Gordon provided enough big shots to lead the Chicago Bulls to a 108-95 victory over former coach Scott Skiles and the Milwaukee Bucks in the season-opener Tuesday. Deng scored 21 points and Gordon added 18 to offset Michael Redd’s 30… Derrick Rose, the No. 1 draft pick out of Memphis and a Chicago native, wowed fans with his quickness and strength but mixed in enough mistakes to remind them he is a work in progress. He finished with 11 points, nine assists and four turnovers… Kirk Hinrich scored 15 points in a reserve role, while Tyrus Thomas added 15 points and 10 rebounds… Bucks C Andrew Bogut, bothered lately by a sprained left ankle, had nine points and seven rebounds.
