Ahhh if only. It would look so much better w/ Aldridge and Carney (or Brewer for that matter) rather then Thomas and Thabo.
paxson knows what hes doing. thomas and thabo are better for thhis team than those two. im a huge carney fan, but i dont see him in red. aldridge is soft and thin-skinned, couldnt see him compatible with skiles
It looks like the Bulls are going for a lineup with a center, and interchangeable forwards and guards. The depth chart will probably look something like this:
Chandler-If he can just play like he did two years ago that may be enough.
Free-Agent Center-probably Przybilla
Forwards-We may see Nocioni and Deng as the starting forwards at the start.
Thomas-How much he can play will be the key to the season.
Khryapa-I think he is the backup 4. A Songalia that can defend.
Nocioni-the playoffs hopefully indicate another year of improvement.
Deng-He lost last summer because of the wrist. This summer he can improve his shooting range, his handle, his post play, and his strength
Gordon-Should further improve ball handling and decision making.
Sefolosha-Just has to defend, run the floor, and hit open jumpers.
Hinrich-A lighter defensive load should lead to offensive improvement.
Duhon-Will see a diminished role, but still an ideal backup point.
Malik Allen will play some if offense is needed at the 5.
Sweetney could take Khryapa's minutes if he loses 30-40 pounds.
I think that's going to be the twelve and all the major contributors.
Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Nocioni, and Duhon all improved there FG% last season, hopefully they will improve again.
Definitly a need to improve the offence they can get from the C/PF slots a trade for a scoring rebounding PF would help a lot. The question is who could they get for Chandler the answer is probably not that much but maybe in a package they could get someone of some use.
the only problem with trading Chandler is it would make an undersized team even smaller.
decent trade options out there:
a cheaper FA option may Wilcox who would be of some use.
I'd be tempted to try and package a deal for boozer and hope all his bad injury Karma out the is gone. Would provide the bulls with a good balance.
He wont fit the Bull system. He doesnt play D and is lazy on the boards.
His offense game is monsterous though and fits best with the Sonics.
Too bad he lacks D because a sign and trade deal with Chandler and
draft pick for him would solve the Bulls enemic interior offense.
This guy is a possibility and can score unlike Chandler.
fair enough with Wilcox in regards to D but with Ben and Chandler (as you wouldn't have to lose him by signing the FA) would help add some balance to the D, and also I think he would learn something from Ben, or at least massively paid out by him if he didn't lift his D.
But that said still think with a rookie like thomas as part of the future, wilcox would probably just eat into his playing time.
So if they were to upgrade I would prefer somelike Boozer (if capable of being health) who can add on all levels
any truth in the potential JR Smith and PJ Brown trade rumors for Chandlers. Have read about the "potential" deal on ESPN.com but is that really going to happen? would have thought they could have got better value, may be in a package, than an ave 36yr old PF and a SG with issues??
