How can you put faith in a company who is consistently disappointing.

Trailer looks wack but I'm going to withhold judgement until a MP trailer of some kind is released (won't be for a while).

Re: Black Ops 2 info revealed
So is this basically another Modern Warfare setting game?
I'll be interested as long as killstreaks aren't annoying like MW2 and as long as they still use realistic guns and no lasers or BS like that.

Most of the game takes place in 2025, but there are some flashbacks to 1980s. The MP is all set in the future though. The weapons will be futuristic, but they're based on technologies that are being developed right now.

I just don't want to rush onto the bandwagon for COD again I was heavily disappointed numerous times. I feel like playing some BO though MW3 is getting boring, I miss radiation and summit, a few maps the one with the rocket coming out. All the other maps suck including the DLC.

Re: Black Ops 2 info revealed
Exact same game engine once again. The graphics and gameplay will be identical. You'll be paying $60 and tax plus DLC for some new guns and killstreaks. Stupid.

Re: Black Ops 2 info revealed
I do like the new setting a lot more than the boring "modern" setting. But we all know this game is going to play exactly the same as all the iterations of Call of Duty since the original Modern Warfare. They won't change the core gameplay until sales die off, and I don't know why they should. People are still enjoying this.
Anyhow, this future gimmick makes me realize someone needs to get to work on a new-gen iteration of TimeSplitters. That game would be boss in online multiplayer.

Crytek actually picked up that studio a few years ago. Guess what game they have them working on.
Homefront 2

Timesplitters 2 was really fun. I always played against the AI, especially with my brother/friends.

They also made Haze. A bad game that bombed critically and commercially. Just goes to show that a developer needs to play to it's own strength. The raw shooter mechanics were never Free Radical's strong suit. So when they work on generic HALO clone ∞, it's never going to be that amazing.
What set Timesplitters apart wasn't the mechanics, it was the personality and flavor of the series. It would present shooter fans with an entirely different style than what's out there right now. That's why it would be a cult smash at least. Terrible business decision that Crytek is making them work on games like Haze and Homefront 2.
