Re: 2012/13 Observation Deck
Crazy to think Louisville and Syracuse will be joining the ACC soon. I guess no more domination of it by Duke and UNC.
Side note - Ryan Kelly is the biggest waste of height I have ever seen. It's too bad Amile Jefferson is so unpolished and not a little bigger because he is probably Duke's most aggressive player.

Re: 2012/13 Observation Deck
So does anyone have an opinion on Russ Smith as an NBA prospect? I realize that he's an incredibly undersized scoring guard but he has absolutely dominated this tournament.
Just seeing the various draft sites out there, the consensus is he will be a very late first round pick at the absolute very best and more likely to be a mid 2nd rounder/undrafted in this crappy draft.
I realize the desire for athleticism, size, potential, etc. but it seems ridiculous to me that guys like freaking LeBryan Nash and Alex Poythress who couldn't produce at all in fast college systems are being projected over him.
I also can't believe Ben freaking McLemore is going to be a top 3 pick. Yeah, he can stroke it from deep but he has ZERO alpha-dog mentality and I've never seen such a passive player who shies away and doesn't demand be a such a high pick.

Re: 2012/13 Observation Deck
I like Russ Smith a lot as a pro. I don't think he's a starter unless some shitty team is desperate, but a more than capable backup with the right fit. I'd be really pleased if Indy drafted him in the late 1st. He's never going to really be a floor general, but a quick guy that attacks the rim and plays above average defense can definitely find a spot in the league. But if he goes somewhere that asks their points to handle the ball a ton and distribute that'll be a recipe for failure.

To no surprise, Purvis is gone. Thinking to UConn, not sure.

Still hearing Warren might go pro and Lewis might be transferring to some place like Davidson. Also Barber is not academically eligible yet. Although if State somehow got Purvis eligible, even though he was the only graduate in the history of his high school-ever, then Barber shouldn't have trouble.

Kentucky > Minnesota > Texas Tech......some careers do not have the same trajectory as others I suppose....that's all I will say.

ESPN'll still keep pushing the narrative that Tubby's a world class coach that non blue bloods are lucky to have

Pac-12 head of officials investigated for targeting Arizona's Sean Miller
Rush, according to a source within the Pac-12 officiating group, told a group of referees on the Thursday of the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas that he would give them $5,000 or a trip to Cancun if they either "rang him up" or "ran him," meaning hit Miller with a technical or toss him out of the game. Rush then reiterated during a Friday morning meeting, according to one referee in attendance, that officials should take similar action against Miller if he did anything on Friday in the Pac-12 semifinals against UCLA.

USC Hoops = $hit on a stick.
First sign of $$$$ and he bolts. He had the opportunity to build a dynasty at FGCU, especially now since they are much talked about school. Just look at VCU. Shaka chose to stay and they'll be a force to be reckoned with as long as he's there.
