Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
Aside from maybe McClemore, he had the most potential in the draft out of anyone imo.

Re: Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
yes... so happy we didnt pick len like alot of people had us taking.
knew it wasn't gonna be noel.
so that left me with mclenmore or porter.
bennet is a surprise pick, but i love what he brings to the table. freshman pf with huge upside and outside shot.
and i am sooo happy we got karasev at 19!
love the draft. interested in what happens with TT though.

Re: Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
Its hard to really question Cleveland passing on Noel or McClemore after they both dropped like they did.

Re: Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
Still wondering how they're gonna play this out though. Is he gonna play the 3? Seems like he's big and strong enough to match up against most 3's, but seems like he isn't quick enough to defend them. His jumpshot isn't exactly reliable yet either. Or have they quickly given up on Thompson and have Bennett start at the 4, his natural position. Idk, to me, Noel or Len would have been the "safe" pick.

Don't care...wouldn't even care if they traded him either. Bennett and a future 1st round for Kevin Love make it happen.

Game. Set. Match.
Re: Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
I had Bennett as the best player in the draft... but I'm a terrible scout.

Re: Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
lol im guessing you were a lebron stan that moved on to the heat after he left. that explains why you would you like the pick for cleveland
and if bennet cant defend/play at the 3 then they are screwed. he is 6'7 in shoes and injury prone

Re: Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
Cavs basically play it "safe".

You're reaching a little too hard. I had Noel going to Cleveland like most, but I don't think it was bad pick if you're going for a home run. They have a cluster **** on their hands with Bennett and Thompson though.

Gotta probably move Tristan Thompson. Atlanta might be an interesting trade partner.

Re: Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
This guy is a strictly POWER FORWARD.
What are the Cavs thinking with this pick?
Irving
Waiters
Who??
Tristan
Varejao -- who hasn't been healthy in three seasons?
That's their starting line up right there. Bennett is strictly a PF so...
Irving
Waiters
Who again?
Bennett
Tristan or Varejao
That's the only line up Bennett can play with. Which is a line up that is 6'9 and shorter with only Tristan and Waiters being the only decent defenders on the floor.
I need to know what this team is trying to do here... become the Golden State Warriors of the East, maybe?

This. I was shocked and left wondering how are they gonna play Thompson and Bennett together.

Re: Anyone Else Like The Bennett Pick?
Bennett = Paul Millsap, if you like that as your first pick in the draft then okay.

I doubt they gave up Thompson. He was pretty close to a 10-10 player last season. They might be rolling out an old school lineup where they just matchup Bennett/Thompson with whomever the coaching staff sees fit. The only lottery pick that was safe imo was Porter. Everyone else had injury questions or gigantic bust potential

To me, looks like Thompson should start packing.
