    Default I don't understand this new bowling change.

    any bowlers here?

    so apparently they're going to start dying the oil on the lanes blue for pro competitions. the idea is that the viewers will be able to see the different patterns and streaks in the oil.

    apparently in tournaments, the oil is deliberately screwed around with each day just to provide an extra challenge to the pros. i'd never heard of that before reading this article.



    on the one hand, how are the fans supposed to see the patterns from that distance or from TV views? OTOH, won't this make the game much easier for the pros, since they'll have the best view of all...?

    I wish they always had done this. That way you can tell where dry spots are, when the oil needs re-applied, etc. And I'm talking for all bowling alleys, not just pros.
