Do you pronounce words in your head as you read?
Do you simply absorb the ideas represented by the words as you read or do you also pronounce them in your head?

Wish I could do the former but I pronounce them in my head. Makes me an auditory learner right?

I'm trying to separate the two completely. It's tricky.

Is it possible to type without pronouncing the words in your head? I can't do it.

No I tend to zone out and just imagine what is happening. Sometimes I manage to snap out of it and realize I am reading.
Textbooks I tend to focus on the words though.

Very good NBA starter
Re: Do you pronounce words in your head as you read?
It's hard to seperate the two and i usually pronounce the words in my head.
If you are able to read without doing this, you can read at higher speeds and this is what those speed reading classes try to get you to do.
This doesn't really matter for me now, but back in college i was trying to get good at it so that i could read 3-4 chapters of a science book or whatever and cram right before a test.
