Ukraine has been removed from hosting the 2015 FIBA EuroBasket.

16 nations have applied to host the tournament. The new host will be picked in August.

Also, they announced that they changed the rules. The tournament will go from 24 teams at the group stage, down to 16 teams and straight into a playoff system.

Instead of the old way they were doing it, where it went from 24 teams in the first group, then to 12 teams in a second group, and where they only counted 3 wins from the previous group into the next stage, thus unfairly eliminating some of the best teams early from the tournament (what happened to Greece last year).

They were upset at how that was working, and how for example last year Greece got eliminated because 2 of their wins got eliminated, and how the same thing almost happened to Spain and Croatia, and they just barely missed the same fate by a slim lucky scheduling themselves.

So from now on, it goes from 24 teams in the group stage, then straight to a 16 team playoff, just like in FIFA.

Why the hell did those idiots just not make it that way from the beginning? That way there is less games and the tournament goes quicker anyway? Idiots.

Latest inside info rumor is that 5 countries will host the 2015 FIBA EuroBasket.

    France
    Germany
    Greece
    Russia
    Turkey

This means each country will host one of the first group stages.

For the final stage, Greece will probably be the host.

According to current rumors, Spain's players are considering boycotting the tournament, due to the new rules set to take place in Spain, that teams could only have to have 2-4 Spanish players on their rosters.

The Spanish players are also said to be considering boycotting the Spanish League Finals, although less likely, because of the timing.

Euroleague announced they are starting with a new European League with the 2015-16 season.

    http://www.euroleague.net/news/i/138175/180

So from now on, Euroleague will be like the Champions League. Supposedly they are changing to this because they think the teams and leagues are ready for it now, to have a true and real European League.

The rumor is also that the league will expand from 24 teams to 32 teams.

Evidently, Keith Langford won't get a Turkish passport and won't play with Turkey after all.
