Top 10.
Re: The Soccer Discussion Thread
If you want to argue a guy is the best player in the tournament because he shined in the group stages and ghosted the entire KO rounds, then be my guests. At that point, you're too stupid to have a rational conversation.

But he didn't ghost the KO rounds. He was MOTM in R16 and really good in the SF as well.

yeah, if you have a Wilt-like performance record
Messi has slightly worse CL KO goal contributions than Ronaldo.
Compare that to major international tournaments where let's just say it isn't close at all!
A goal/assist ever 318 minutes at WC/Euro. That's just atrocious. It's hard to fathom how bad that is...

We did this before. I detailed the numbers to QF/SF/F and you ignored it. I contextualized the Euro numbers and you ignore it. Same old story.
Hard to fathom, really? Is it really hard to fathom?
Or could it be that half of Ronaldo‘s KO legs came from 2004-2006 when he wasnt a scorer yet, and many of his legs since then he barely played in?
Be intellectually honest once.

Excuses.
Taking just 2008-2018 when he was obviously a scorer and played full matches, he still only has 2 goals and 1 assist in 9 KO matches at the WC and Euro. 1 goal and 1 assist against lowly Wales at 2016 Euro and 1 goal against a mediocre Czech team at the 2012 Euro. Works out to a goal contribution every 278 minutes played. Horrific!
Contextualize that please.

2008: Not at goalscoring peak to begin with, had his first long season, was somewhat tired
2010: vs Spain, barely had possession, Spain did not conceed 1 goal in the KO stages
2012: was beasting
2016: 2 goals + injury
2018: 1 game vs Uruguay
2021: 1 game vs Belgium iirc
You think thats a sample size? Stop trolling buddy.

Re: Soccer Discussion Thread
So, Barcelona paid referees from 2001-2018.
I feel so damn vindicated.
Its no longer just baseless accusations.
So much of their success is now explained.
Do you guys think titles will be rescinded?

He was humiliated in the Champion League. And Ligue 1 is not a good league (behind EPL, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and even maybe Portugese league).
