Default Brady proves he's the GOAT when he doesn't call his own number for meaningless stats

How many times in the KC game alone did he sacrifice his box score? Clutch pass after clutch pass, but starts handing it off when close to the goal line.

Did the same thing in the SB.

He could've gotten the sheep to approve of his box scores, but he didn't care.

    He made the winning plays.

You do know he padded his stats a lot in the 50 TD season? So yes, all athletes pad their stats at some point.

    "At some point."

But not their entire damn careers to the point of sacrificing winning titles.

Brady cost his team 2 super bowls against the Giants by not handing the ball off to his RB more. He was insulted by the Giants mocking him saying they would only score 17 points. Guess what champ, you scored 14! BOOYAH!

    Giants had him on lockdown

Patriots went 16 - 0 without elite talent at RB & they couldn't run the ball on the Giants' D-line. They got like 2 yards a carry in 08 SB so it's a no-brainer that you would take your chances down the field. Guess what, the O-line was garbage in that game, yet he still had a game-winning drive that was spoiled by the luckiest throw & catch in SB history.

Similar thing happened in 2012, only that this time Welker drops a ball that could have set them up for a game-winning drive on the Giants' side with 4 minutes left.

Brady has 0 rings without an elite defense. Prove me wrong. Even in the Falcons comeback, it was the defense that changed momentum. And he can't win without an elite offensive line? Imagine him on the Giants all these years

I remember that 'drop' like it was yesterday. It was not the best thrown ball. Throw it better and the game is likely over.

Brady had 59 seconds to drive down and win it. He made some bad throws even when he had time. Deal with it buddy. I hate arguing with you Brady stans after he's won a Super Bowl... but let's face it anyone not named Goff could have scored more than 3 points.

LOL. So Brady isn't perfect every single time. No shit. He's still been consistently better than any other qb in NFL history.

    lol at @ elite defense

a top 10 defense is not elite. an elite defense is the 2000s patriots, after that Brady hasn't had an elite defense

Virtually nobody wins rings without a good defense. When was the last time a bad defense won a superbowl? When was the last time a bad defense even appeared in the superbowl? The '16 Falcons and '11 Packers are probably the closest thing to bad defense that has been in the superbowl lately, but even if both of those teams were "bad" in the regular season they still had the most important thing for a defense - elite pass rushers.

Lets look back at recent history.

Nick Foles had like 5 legit pass rushers when he won.

Wilson had one of the best defenses of the decade in both of his appearances.

Rogers in 2011 had prime Matthews rushing for him.

Steelers defense was ranked top 3 in all 3 of roethlisbergers appearances.

Peyton Manning had Mathis and Freeney for his first superbowl win and then Miller and Ware for his second.

Eli Manning had Tuck and Osi pass rushing the first time and then JPP and Osi the second time.

Brees had Will Smith in 2009 and his defense was intentionally injuring people.

The Ravens defense was elite both times they won.

Tampa had the #1 defense the year that they won.

That basically covers the past 2 decades

I agree with all that. But it's basically clear that defense wins championships. Brady is no exception.

    Balance wins championships.

The Bears and Ravens had the best defenses in the NFL this season and got bounced in the wild card because of their inconsistent offense. The 4 teams that made it to the conference championship games were the highest scoring teams in the league.

The Pats defense this year in general was nothing special, it was bend but not break, they stepped up in the playoffs but Mahomes still scored on them like crazy in the 2nd half of the AFCCG. Shutting down the Rams was impressive, but the Rams offense was nowhere near as good as explosive as they were during the middle of the season. There were a handful of teams better than the Pats defensively this year. You can argue this was their worst defensive team that won a super bowl.

I'm more surprised when he has a bad game given the system he gets to play in, hard for a pro QB to screw that up
