Default Anyone else feel like Brown is Tatum's equal?

If the Celtics win the title I think 99 percent of people would credit this as "Tatum's ring"

I think that's a major major discredit to Brown. He is just as important to me.

His game is more fluid. He’s more athletic, you can make a case he is more skilled than Tatum but Tatum is a better player right now. Tatum is more fundamental. He’s more in line with the classic triple threat players, he likes working in the midrange either facing the basket or with his back to it and he can also shoot from distance. He is a better passer than Brown.

I'll think of it as Horford's ring.

I’ve always been big on brown. Tatum is better most of the times but it’s way closer than people think. Tatum’s 3 point shot can not be dropping and he completely disappears which I don’t see with brown. Whenever brown goes off the Celtics roll hard. He’s underrated.

He’s about equal as a scorer but that’s it.

Yea Brown has a smooth midrange jumper on top of his 3pt shot. And he's more explosive attacking the rim. Tatum is just taller and the household name.

Tatum has more all around game. If both have off-shooting nights he’ll be the one who impacts the game more.

And when they’re on the court at the same time Tatum is the one who draws the doubles.

Brown IMO is the better player.

Tatum's game is more aesthetic so thats why he is considered better.

Tatum is a lot better. Jaylen can’t hit FTs and gets the yips ball handling. Doesn’t have the same playmaking ability

No...Brown legit can't dribble. He's really good, but that is a huge weakness that would show even more if you asked him to do more.

Brown is in a perfect situation...give the Celtics a lot of credit for building this team and remaining patient...great drafting as well.

Also, loads of talent...Horford is obviously older...although he's playing great...I think they have 4 top 6 picks in the starting lineup. Pretty crazy.

As a Mavs fan...kind of depressing...we are playing mostly undrafted players and non lottery pick players.

    "Legit" can't dribble? wtf?

    dude's playing 1 sometimes

Yes, during his 1st 3 season but right now, he really improves a lot and I'm actually impressed. What's his weakness is still his shot selections.

Right now they're at par on what they can give on offense but JT is better defensively and has a higher ceiling.

Obviously I don't mean he "can't dribble"...he's an NBA player.

His handle, however, is quite weak and it would be a bigger weakness if he was asked to do more.

Have you really not noticed him fumbling the ball consistently all playoffs? I think if he was asked to create more he'd be doing like 5 or 6 turnovers per game the way he's playing...now, in fairness...Tatum struggles with this as well, but I don't think Brown could do what Tatum does.

Pinpointing his dribble as a "weakness" is just nitpicking. I actually made a thread here about him not having a good handles about like 3 years ago, trust me JB's dribbling has improved a lot.

And nope, JT's problem is his passing. Dude's will occasionally make dumb lazy passes out of nowhere especially when he's frustrated.
