Ayton is a lot better than most here and in the media give him credit for imo. That is an insanely good top 4. How they or if they can surround them with guys will be interesting...but Beal/Booker/Durant/Ayton is going to be a nightmare for everyone to deal with.

I think it depended on what the Wizards wanted...everyone reported that Heat offered Lowry/Robinson and two protected firsts.

On first glance, that seems like a better deal...but the cost savings of this deal combined with 2nd rounders and pick swaps (assuming there are multiple ones involved) might have been what the Wizards were after.

Booker was impressive this post season, but surrounding your best scorer with other iso scorers who do nothing else, just because theyre names and theyve made all star teams before… I dont know how many times this has to not work for people to stop thinking it’s a thing.

And depth matters.

This is not putting a HOF defender (KG) and HOF sniper (Ray) around Paul Pierce. And it’s not putting guys around the GOAT uplifter Lebron.

Putting Harden and KD and Irving together, putting Irving and Doncic together, adding Trashbrook to Lebron and AD (thanks Pelinka…)

Teams just dont get it. One dimensional iso scorers stacked on top of each other is stupid. Youre better off with one star and guys who do other things well.

They pretty much got him for free though. Paul is a non factor because he always sits out. Can't hurt adding another 30 ppg scorer. Well have to see how the chemistry goes.

Offensively on paper this is true. But Durant will miss 20+ games the defense will be bad and now point guard is low key a question mark. They can call Beal the pg because of defensive match up and run the offense through Durant and Booker but that's not ideal. I expect them to be good but Nuggets are still the favorite to take the top seed so they are still going to have to figure out how to win in the Mile High without any depth.

What a disaster for Washington. Not just this trade but the Beal contract itself. They gave this guy a supermax, was your best player and biggest trade asset, and had many opportunities for years to get great deals or packages for him, but at the very end all they could get for him was CAP SPACE. ouch. Not for the ownership, players, or agents.

They all made a shit ton of money, and Beal hardly even played last year. They all laughed their way to the bank because they dont even HAVE to make an effort to be successful in order to make money off fans. Sports fans will eat out of the hands of any team or league no matter what the product looks like. It’s a god damn gold mine.

Yea, but I mean...the Suns were tied 2-2 with the Nuggets this year...and were down like 3 at halftime of game 5...if they had Beal instead of Shamet...I don't know...would have been a lot more interesting. They are definitely going to be noticeably better next year in the playoffs.

Forget the media. Anyone who watched the Denver series understandably believes Ayton is tissue paper. It's up to him to flip the script now. (And he can).
