I think I tore my meniscus

Playing basketball. My regular physician recommended me a specialist. I thinking homie is about to go to work on my knee. He rubs on my knee for like 2 minutes and says I most likely tore my meniscus. It takes 2 minutes of rubbing to get that information? Then he scheduled me to get a MRI for tomorrow. What the hell was the specialist for.

When I tore my meniscus they checked where the pain was coming from and did various range of motion tests from what I can remember.

Did an MRI to confirm and then used that to determine whether it could be repaired or if it needed to be removed.

Had surgery to repair and then crutches for a couple months.

I guess that's good you aren't having pain. I hurt mine during football and had intense pain at first. I went to the doctor immediately and got some fire pain medicine, so it wasn't bad at all after that

It doesn't take much more than 2 minutes moving your knee around to make a general diagnostic.
