Default Dwayne Wade has only scored 17000 points. Does he deserve Kobe money?

Naturally, Wade was asked what he planned to do this summer. Would he demand a "Kobe-style" deal, or would he take the Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan route by accepting a substantial pay cut to preserve Miami's cap flexibility?

"D-Wade is getting that Kobe deal," LeBron interjected before Wade could answer, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

He turns 33 next season. He's scored about 17,000 points

Number of games played the last 4 seasons

    1. 76
    2. 49
    3. 69

    In comparison.

Kobe Bryant at 35 years old has scored about 32,000. Here are his stats from ages 30-33 to compare to Wade's.

    Pretty much this.

Although teams overpay their "stars" all the time, so i guess the comparison is whether MIA values Wade's service like LA values Kobe's service.

You couldn't indicate Wade's lock out season? How about we compare both players last four seasons when Kobe was making way more than D-Wade?

    PER
    25.6 vs 23.9
    26.3 vs 21.9
    24 vs 23
    22 vs 10.7

    FGA
    18.2 vs 20
    17.1 vs 23
    15.8 vs 20.4
    14.1 vs 12.2

    TS% last four seasons
    58% vs 55%

Games played the last four seasons
    248 vs 224
    * not even counting playoffs

    2014 Salary
    $18.7m vs $30.5m
$346,000 vs $5,000,000 per game played

Wade has gotten basically the same amount of assists as Kobe and recorded almost 300 more blocks from ages 22-32 while Wade played 118 less games. Peak for peak, they were pretty identical. One just couldn't stay healthy mainly due to style of play.

To answer the thread, Wade doesn't deserve Kobe money, but he does deserve a long term contract like 4 years $55-60 million like rumors has told.

Doesn't make sense because we already saw what Kobe did with that $30 million contract. Kobe himself didn't even deserve it if you look at hindsight. Wade has done enough from ages 29-32 to deserve a hefty long term contract. Without him, they struggle to defeat Indiana in 2012 and Spurs in 2013. We saw he was basically Lebron's equal in long stretches in 2011. He clearly got gassed in the finals this year, but I think that had to do more with his weight, conditioning, and Spurs tempo and passing ability than his knees.

Maybe you hesitate to give him that contract because of the uncertainty with his knees, but what can you do as an organization to not make yourself look bad? He just opted out of a 2 year $40+ million dollar contract for the Heat. Even if you think he doesn't deserve the rest of that contract, does Kobe really deserve his current one by missing an entire season?

So is it lebron > wade > kobe or lebron > wade = kobe?

What wade doesn't do in points, he made up in PER. Much more efficient than Kirby bean
