Well, considering that part of Australia is mostly desert and populated with Aboriginals, I find it hard to believe. Anyone who lives in Australia, please correct me if I am wrong. As for the midwest of America, I am not surprised at all. Population density is extremely low in the West compared to the East. Most people there are spread out due to large patches of farmland.

True about both statements.
I guess I was more shocked about how Colorado's north is the largest lit part until you get to the East Coast, considering I am from Colorado, didn't except our cities to be that bright.
