The scary thing is Ebola can have a hibernation period of up to a month, kind of like rabies.

To me that's just sad and speaks to the lack of controls they put in place. You could quadruple my current pay and I still wouldn't go to western Africa for a year to help as a medical aid. Yet these workers likely go on a volunteer basis, or perhaps get paid a fourth of what I'm making, and take on the risk of becoming infected themselves for a disease that has roughly a 1/3rd survival rate.

I wonder what percentage of health workers that have gone to help have died so far?
