As far back as Ancient Egypt, African women were obssessed with weaves/extensions & box braids( commonly seen worn by African American women today) were ubiquitous .


African women have always made a huge fuss over their hair.

hair extensions aren't specific to black women. they can actually be traced back to european origin

OT, its easier to maintain than natural hair which usually grows slowly and outwards instead of down. Only thing is that it ruins the natural hairline
