All their depth (which made them good) decimated for a chance at LMA. C'mon LMA, at least let them know so they can make other moves.

This is why I didn't want the Spurs to go after the marquee player.
He's taking his sweet time and we had to effectively sacrifice our greatest weapon (our depth) to even entice him.
Now when he doesn't sign for us (which won't be announced for a while) we'll have to scrap to fill out the roster.

I really don't see LMA as a Popovich-type player.
Pop will find some other role players to fill out his roster with, and all of them will contribute to another 50+ win season.

So much for all the troll claims in this forum that, "players make more money in the NBA than in Europe".
Even 2nd and 3rd tier players from Europe demand more than that.

I've always been an advocate of development from within and depth. Can't be too dependent on the WHIM of any ONE player (especially one coming from a rival team) - he literally could destroy what was a contending team. Better to stay the way they were and pray for health/luck - they'd have 1-2 more years of contention (as long as Duncan plays).

Re: Kings sign Marco Belinelli (3 yr-19m)
good signing and a desperate need. I didn't even realize he was a FA.
Now Kings just need a backup PF and a starting/backup PG

Does this mean Patty is safe? I would think he's the bench guy the Spurs can't lose (along with Diaw). Guys like Belinelli are replaceable. There was Gary Neal before him and Roger Mason before him... Maybe sign someone like Ellington for cheap.

You can't be serious.
We are speaking of Marco Belinelli.
He would never have had such a salary in Europe...
