    CONCLUSIONS:

    1) As you can see, Jordan scored the highest percentage of his team's points while he was on the floor BY FAR, including 45-50% of his team's 4th quarter points in playoffs and Finals.

    2) Lebron and Curry's proportion of their team's points often DECLINED in the 4th quarter, while Jordan's always increased, and significantly.

    CONCLUSIONS:

    1) As you can see, Jordan scored BY FAR the highest percentage of his team's points while he was on the floor - he puts Curry and Lebron to shame.

    2) Lebron and Curry's proportion of their team's points often DECLINED in the 4th quarter, while Jordan's always increased, and significantly.

    3) In the 4th quarter of playoffs and Finals, Jordan scored HALF his team's points while he was on the floor

As you can see, Curry won a championship in 2015 without having to do NEARLY as much as MJ did.

This season, his proportion of scoring nearly the same thru 25 games, except Currry gets 25% from transition and MJ only ato 7% from transition in 1997 and 1998.... And let's see if Curry can score half his team's 4th quarter points in the playoffs like MJ while winning a championship like MJ did.

Btw, MJ played more minutes at the same proportion, so his overall percentage of team points was higher - he scored 30% of his team's points for all his 6 rings, whereas Curry is only scoring 27% of his team's total points this season.

What if one player scores half of his teams Q4 points and his team scores 20, while another player only scores 1/4 of the Q4 points and the team scores 40?

Hence my original question; so what?

Forget "what if"... We don't need to make stuff up - MJ won 2 championships so we know what happened.

He won 2 championships in 1997 and 1998 while scoring 50% of his team's 4th quarter points while he was on the floor, compared to 40.9% for Curry in 2015 Finals, or 14% for Lebron in 2011 Finals.

    The data is pretty clear.

    1. This a purely volume based stat...how do we know if MJ wasn't just chucking up shots? Please post FG%/eFG% so we know what's up. Sixers Iverson probably had stats like this...but his FG% probably made it not so impressive.

    2. Lebron is an elite passer and Curry is a very good passer...this stat would penalize them for using their amazing passing skills.

Please also post the same stats for assists.

Jordan did more at the same efficiency - he had higher volume while maintaining the same efficiency as the other scorers.

If Kobe, Curry or Lebron could shoot a higher volume at the same efficiency - they would... But they can't - only Jordan is capable of maintaining the same efficiency at very high volume.

If you look at the #2 and #6 guys are between 32-36 points, you'd think the #1 guy would be at 37 or 38... But MJ is a 43.3, all alone, far above the pack.

What an arbitrary stat with no context whatsoever.

Lebron is by far the best passer in the group, and Curry also isn't as selfish as Jordan.

Post eFG%, assists, and FGA cause I'm more than sure Jordan's chucking accounts for the difference in volume scoring.

That's ludicrous, since Jordan was more efficient than Lebron and others... Jordan did more at the same efficiency - he had higher volume while maintaining the same efficiency as the other scorers.
