that was 2008 when they beat the cavs and lakers so no real point in degrading them
they were a great team both years and gave a few games away to a hawks team that underachieved

This. It was tantamount to sabotage given the circumstances.
Im not prepared to say definitively it should keep Wade out of HoF consideration, but it’s something voters will have to think very seriously about. He put himself before the team on the biggest stage possible, and it was a tremendous embarassment to the league.
There should be some kind of consequence.

2003-4 Shaq wasn't nearly as dominant as 2000-2002 Shaq. He coasted through the early part of his career relying on his physical gifts. In 1999 the Spurs surprised everyone by winning the title, and some people started calling Duncan the best big in the game. That pissed Shaq off, he finally worked hard during the off-season, started 2000 motivated and in good shape, and destroyed the league. Same thing in 2001 and 2002. By 2003 he figured he had made his point, he had 3 rings, and he was back to being fat and happy Shaq. That's why Kobe ran him out of town. He knew that Shaq would never again be motivated to be as dominant as he was during the Lakers title run.
