Default Why does Klay Thompson put up the exact same stats year in year out?

Since 2015, the last 5 seasons Klay has average anywhere between...

    20-22 ppg
    2.1-2.9 apg
    3.2-3.9 rpg
    46-48 fg%
    41-44 3p%
    1.5-1.9 tov

It's really crazy, ever since he entered his prime, Klay's numbers are pretty much the same all across the board, no dramatic drop or rise in any category. I tried to see if this was a trend among shooters, but even Reggie Miller had some years where his fg% was inconsistent, same with Ray Allen with his 3pt%.

Even when Durant joined the Warriors it didn't affect Klay the slightest.

When things get tough for them. You can always count on him to turn it up.

    Reliable

That's not a one trick pony.

Everybody eats in Chef Curry’s kitchen.

Steph actually “assists” his team mates with gravity and floor spacing, whilst Bran is only interested in selfish assists that boosts his own stats.

Because he knows his role, is low maintenance, and plays his part to perfection. I’d love to have him on my team.

Klay is just a high volume scorer. He's averaging 18 shots to average 22 points...there is absolutely nothing special about that. People always go on about his defense, but his impact on that end is and has always been meh.

He would be perfect fit next to LeBron and Lonzo.

    Imagine a Lonzo-Klay backcourt
Elite defense, solid playmaking, good scoring, insane ball movement, solid movement without the ball when LeBron has the ball.

If only Klay would sign for a bit less than max to put a solid bench around them or use MLE for a starting level veteran big man.

His role seems to be the same before or after Durant. If you look at the playoff, his % varies a lot.

Plus, you're comparing 5 seasons to a whole career in terms of Reggie or Ray. Reggie also had a 5 seasons streak where his averages was mostly the same too.

No. Curry has lead the league in Hockey assists multiple years because he initiated the offense which has great ball movement, no pounding the air out of the rock and bail out pass with 2 sec on the shot clock to guarantee the assist. Even if you take away passing, Curry creates so many shots by making cuts off the ball.

^^^ That's why Klay can average 20+ as third option, while other third options like Love, Bosh, Eric Gordon or OKC harden averaged less, due to lebron/harden/westbrook ball-domination and shit ball movement
