How many of you actually have an accent from the region you're from?
Mainly for the north american posters...
I'm from Texas and my accent is generic american much to the disappointment of many international women.

I didn't know a California accent (outside of the Valley Boy/Girl) was a thing until I moved out to AZ.

I don't think I have an accent, but it's hilarious to me when I cross the boarder into Seattle and everyone has a southern drawl. Lol

I didn't know we had accents either.
When I was in Japan a person from Australia said "Wow, I love your accent"
My initial reaction was 'what? you're the one with the accent.' Of course I didn't actually say that. It was super fun talking to them.

What if you're from an isle? Is that different; if you're from an isle?

Everyone has an accent. You don't know it but other people will recognize it.

General northeast accent I would think. Most people in my area dont have those grating Boston accents you see in movies.

Without being privy to the full conversation, it sounds like she meant your accent within all spoken English, and not North American regional accents :)

People from California sound just like people from Cleveland, Detroit, Buffalo, etc. No accent. If they did, then people wouldn’t sound exactly the same despite such distance.
People from NY just talk faster.
People from Boston....”Let me get the cah”. Learn how to pronounce an R. Although this is only in certain places in Boston.
People from MS, AL, LA, GA all have a southern drawl accent.
AUS? “Aye mate, lets throw tha shrimp on tha barbie”
Da fvck u just say?
