Well it's a backbeat and bass playing 8th. It's basically the most findamental rock thing. The progression the solo is played over is some i-VI-iv-v in Gm, but finding the exact tune it reminds you of is tough as it's also pretty common - atleast I think so - but I'll try.

You could try posting on a musician's forum they might help.
