I know a lot of this is circumstance that is really out of Jokic’s control. He doesn’t choose who he plays against or who is injured.

Just comparing the Nuggets run to the Warriors the year before, the Suns & Lakers are clearly tougher opponents than the Grizzlies with Ja out half the series & the Mavs, despite the former being below 50 wins and the latter over 50.

Have to include the context though that the east was factually trash back then. While the west is brutal now. It's easier to get more wins playing scrubs. The wemby spurs would've been a playoff team in the east 10 years ago.

Lebron was facing teams led by derozan and lowry and paul Millsap and Jeff Teague and 1 man band Rose in the Conference finals.

The Bulls, Hawks and Raptors were ~ 60 win teams but we really considering them better than Lebron and AD?

It isn't surprising when two of those seasons were shortened to 72 games and Murray missed the postseason on two of the full seasons.
