I see your location is NYC. I'm in NYC too. Ever go to Little Italy? Drive around Astoria? You said you're 1/2 Dominican. Go to the Bronx, Dominican flags are everywhere. You see flags of other nations everywhere. Go to White Plains and you'll see Albanian flags, Greek flags around Ditmars...oh, and Israeli flags all over congress.

And unlike those people, Mexicans ARE indigenous to the US. They were in Texas and the Southwest before these states even became part of the US. Not to mention, they're 38 million people. Good grief.

Mexico is a country. Texas and all those states in the Southwest do not pertain to Mexico. This indigenous argument you're trying to make is irrelevant.

There was no country of Mexico back when the Aztecs or Mayans were roaming around. The Southwest now belongs to the United States. So flying a Mexican flag in these states and claiming it's yours is incorrect.

Yea this is the crux of the matter. My friend's case has been ongoing for 15 years and he's been detained twice now by ICE. The second time they put the ankle bracelet on him, for no reason. He's a legal resident who has to comply with weekly checkins at his home, which inhibits him to work.

These are Americans who have families, who have jobs, who run businesses. But Conservatives want to paint the image that it's just all illegals and just arrest them and deport. You have kids being taken from graduation ceremonies or at school. How is this ok? There's no regard for human life and it's apparent.

The question is why? The answer is simple...get rid of legal immigration. Trump just went on record last night saying he wants up to 1 year for burning the flag. Meanwhile, this issue has been solved over and over in the SCOTUS. But conservatives nor liberals care about free speech in reality.

Burning the flag is a crime in many other countries, including Mexico.

I keep telling that knucklehead what you wrote, in my family, my ancestors on my dad's side were from Seguin, Texas, before it got took. On my mom's side, they're from the state of Michoacan along with my great grandpa from Spain.

Just as there are Spanish named places in Florida, including the name of the State. Just as there are French named places in Louisiana. What's your point? The French and the Spanish are gone now. They're all part of the United States. We don't need a history lesson.

So the people of California, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, and Arizona aren't Mexican? What are they then? You're too hung up on arbitrary dates and borders to accept the fact that these people and their lineage predate all of that.

It's like trying to say Native Americans should wave American flags only and simply adopt Republican rhetoric (cause dissent clearly isn't tolerated), because of 1776. It's absurd. It doesn't take away long standing indigenous history.

Furthermore, people don't fly flags because of the politics. People fly flags because of what it means to them — heritage. That's like saying people who wave the Confederate flag do it because they want to secede now from the US. They don't. And if you go down south, you'd know that.
