There are already plenty of countries in the region eager and willing to do business with us and none of them give a shit about Iran. We go through leaders every 4-8 years so deals are expected to be renegotiated.

US/Israel isn't engaging in this war purely out of virtue, I would never assume that, but dealing a powerful blow to the anti-western radical Islamic power structure IS a bonus and a net positive for the world. The question is at what cost. If the cost is too high then I imagine everyone will turn on Trump, but if the cost is barely noticeable you might see the opposite. Long term it could cement his legacy.

Iran is a major power center when it comes to our Islamic adversaries, so if Trump and his allies (handlers) believe the west is in a position of strength to weaken the mothership without much cost to us then what's the problem? If the cost becomes too great and the war ends up jeopardizing the safety and stability of our country, then sure it will have been a colossal failure and Trump will go out in shame. But do we know that's bound to happen?

What if Iran is defeated handily and without much sacrifice? You think the average person is going to care? I don't.

iran isn't our adversary. that's a deep state propaganda tool to fool americans into getting onboard with what we're facilitating in the middle east on behalf of israel. iran is israel's adversary and they're leveraging our size and strength in order wipe, what they see, as their enemies off the map and establish supremacy in the middle east. this is in regard to both iran and what they've been carrying out in gaza and the west bank.

israel wouldn't be doing what it's doing right now if they weren't reasonably confident that they had complete control over washington. if and when israel decides to declare that this conflict, that they started, is existential for them and the lobby presents the white house with that fait accompli, we'll have no choice at that point but to get involved. do you not see how this is a problem for us? the risk that this poses in today's world is too great... if we become directly involved, the temptation for other states to do so will be overwhelming. not the least of which being russia and china as you already mentioned due to their dependence on the oil & gas that comes through the persian gulf and won't allow the us to take control of, but also the other muslim states in the region because they'll see themselves as being next on the chopping block. russia has already been subjected to this by the same western warmongers. there's no appreciation for the depth of hostility and the readiness to push back against us that exists today in the world and iran has the potential to bring about that shitstorm.
