Just speaking from what I've seen on ISH. Once Curry, Giannis, Jokic & SGA came along it seems like posters here didn't care about the advanced metrics as much. Of course a lot of the advanced metrics have gone mainstream but also the stats are not always accurate in terms of measuring a player's true impact on the game.

You can't quantify the impact that Steph has on his teams, even when he has a bad game the defense that's played against him still benefits his teammates the same way, same with Kobe or any other elite offensive player that demands double teams.

Well I'll tell you from being part of these conversations for even longer....Mj fans were in love with PER until Lebron started kicking the door in. And thats the exact argument than ran opposite of Lebron then "we'll you.cant tell everything from stats!!" "Eye test!!" etc. And it's true all these things require a bit of context. Someone will come rant to you about offensive rating or plus/minus and have no clue how its actually calculated. Then another will tell you eye test and is absolute shit at deciphering what they are seeing on the floor. Some numbers corroborate what we see on the floor and some dont. But I think when a guy has both eye test and numbers you just gotta shut up and take the L lol.
