You gotta love how 3ball uses Larry Bird, one of the 10 greatest ever by most accounts, as the bar for Flagg. I'm not aware of anyone saying that's his ceiling. But this is well-worn ground, in the extreme likelihood Flagg doesn't reach that level, 3ball will say he 'predicted it' as part of his 'I'm right about everything' schtick. But he's 'right' about something nobody else is talking about.

Make some money. Get a bloody nose. Bloody a nose. Soft ass hoes this gen Z. It’s a proven fact. Flagg is part of that. Dude gonna be out the league like Adam Morrison in 4 to 7.
I assume you’re in a manic state that one can only be in if they’re mentally ill or on meth and/or crack.

Well yea no one ever compared Flagg to Bird. Other than the occasional extremists which 3ball is so he’ll respond in kind.

In all likelihood he won’t be a top 10 player ever

It IS likely that he’ll be a very good player though. He’s quite sound in a lot of ways that make it impossible to not be a strong contributor as his floor.

literally EVERYONE is comparing Flagg to Bird, but the problem is that if the jumpshot is a question mark, then he isn't comparable to bird at any stage of his life

That's all I'm saying.. So probably lay off the bird comparisons.

Btw, this idea that he will play PG is a fundamental misunderstanding of basketball physiques... This guy is a plodding forward... He also can't pass

I’ve literally not seen one person compare him to Bird

Jayson Tatum, Kawhi, Jimmy Butler, Pippen, Gordan Hayward are the most common ones I’ve seen.

Maybe Gordon Hayward or Pippen at BEST (aka Klay or Middleton caliber)

He lacks the ability of a Tatum, Butler or Kawhi - that's dreaming la-la land... He'll end up being Gordon Hayward or Pippen (without the titles) - this will allow you guys to say that "the only great white prospect since Bird" lived up to expectation... lol bs

Who has compared Flagg to Bird, other than OP?

Flagg shot 38.5% from 3s, 84% from the line which i am sure is news to OP.

Cooper is really in a lucky ass situation as a top pick. Couldn’t ask for a better situation.

That really isn't his game though. He is fine as a secondary ball handler but he shouldn't be the primary guy. he isn't Lebron/Luka.

I would guess they are just doing this to help him develop until Kyrie returns, but it could be rough early on if Flagg really is the primary ball handler.

A big part of Cooper's game is being effective off ball, especially cutting to the rim/attacking close outs.

I need to see the receipts on that. Who's making this comparison? And what would the comparison be, besides the obvious low hanging fruit one? They play absolutely nothing alike nor have similar attributes. I've heard more people comment on him being similar to Jayson Tatum than Bird.

Another thread where OP embarrasses himself by not having the first clue what he's talking about

Too early to make that call, IMO. He was 90th percentile in PnR Ball Handler possessions on high volume for the #1 offense in college. More assists than Cade (4.2 vs 3.5) with half as many turnovers. Comparable AST% and apg to Ben Simmons with way fewer turnovers. He could end up a Luka/LeBron playmaker and I wouldn't be surprised because the evidence was there.
