    Old school basketball:

    C - David Robinson
    PF - Hakeem
    SF - Kawhi
    SG - Artest
    PG - Payton

More individual defense oriented for that era on the perimeter

Modern 3 pt era all defensive team:

    Center - Kevin Garnett
    PF - Draymond Green
    SF - Pippen
    SG - Andre Iggy
    PG - Peak Ben Simmons

Switch everything focused on big men who can protect the rim + switch picks effectively

A lot of "old school" centers would struggle with all these picks. I think Garnett and Draymond are the best combination of rim protection + pick and roll defense for this era.

Jason Kidd continues to be one of the most underrated defenders ever. People don't realize how impactful he was on that end.

Payton might have been a better man defender, but defense in general is mostly team compared to man and Kidd was the superior team/help defender who was also more versatile, could guard 1-3.

Duncan and Wilt could too... do you seriously think Gobert is more mobile than young Wilt Chamberlain? Guy had olympic level athleticism measurables while being half as goofy as Rudy from coordination perspective.
They may have been able to. We never saw it. They also could grab their opponent

You could LEGIT have an all-time defensive team of just Pistons.

    Ben Wallace
    Dennis Rodman
    Tayshaun Prince
    Ausar Thompson
    Joe Dumars

I mentioned this is another defensive thread floating around.
Dave DeBusschere, how good was he as a defender?
The first six years they selected All-Defensive Teams, he was not only 1st Team every season but had the most votes in four of them. The other two years came in 2nd behind Walt Frazier and 3rd behind Walt and Bill Russell.

Draymond is a bitch compared to Dennis Rodman. What you think the R in my moniker stands for? I was JOR but got banned 20 years ago. Before that. I was on this site back in 1991 and I had to walk through snow to access it. Rodman is a real human. 100%. I don’t care what his daughter says. He named Madonna in her prime and he was homeless in Oklahoma before a coach found him randomly digging through the trash. The rest is history. It was written as Nas would say

What a ***** putting Ben the bust Simmons on there put Gary Payton you b!tch white chocolate murked that ninja. I’d put Stockton before Simmons

One of the few shaq respects. Payton, arguably, the best Point Guard ever tried to trip the white boy from West Virginia who went to high school with Randy Moss. The new gen is so soft with their pony tails and face tats that mean nothing. Ever hear of Chicago heights? I still can call up a vice lord like that but that’s west side. Everyone screams Latin kings but they were founded in Chicago, look it up fool. Hit em on division and the 4CH on wentworth. Nothing like asking 5 for 4 and you get a screwdriver to the neck
