People are waking up to the NBA gifting him fake steals during the '88 season.

People have been actually saying this for decades. Consequently, I don't know what you mean with "waking up".

Yeah 80s Mj was like an alien to the league. Theres only been a few that have visual broken the optics of the league. And he came in at a time where there hadn't been a player with that type of flair in a long time. When the NBA got Dr.J he wasn't at that mythical level he was in the ABA. So Mj was the anomaly of his time. I actually got something else intriguing out of this clip, not what you intended for sure.

your all your momentum is on your toes brother right it's easy to burn past this and then he just one two pull up
Wasn't Starks supposed to be one of Mjs toughest rivals? And his defense was all wrong for Mj on a fundamental level. Wow. And that's not to say him being in a proper stance woulda done much better because he wasn't on Mjs level anyway.

Gil and everyone on the panel said that they forgot about 80's MJ, and when they went back recently and watched footage of 80's Jordan, they quickly realized that he's the best athlete that basketball has ever seen...
Btw, there are only 2 mega athletes among today's All-NBA selections - Giannis and Ant - but the Jordan's era had Dominique, Clyde, Barkley, MJ, Robinson, Hakeem, Shaq, Pippen, Kemp - this is all from 1994.. So today's athletes aren't better - you've simply been fed a bag of lies, which you ate up like Turkey on Thanksgiving - stuffing and gravy all over your face.. MJ is the goat athlete of basketball - it's confirmed by Gil's Arena and simple logic (the aforementioned All-NBA teams).. oh, and the eye test, lol

Id still wouldn't forget about Wilt or Lebron, Wilt was literally a track star. Even Shaq has a seat at that table. Mj definitely got the agility over all 3. Power is Shaq or Wilt, endurance is probably Wilt or Lebron. They both had a really high motor. All of em had quick twitch muscle. Only one that has both the speed and power is the guy still playing today. And I mean we've got modern freaks that are standout athletic Zion is crazy even if he never lives up to his potential.

Elgin Baylor was doing that 30 year prior, while tweaking mid-motion.

Teague said he used to think Kobe played like MJ but then watching 80s MJ said they were not alike.
Yes, Kobe played like old MJ, he never had the athleticism of young MJ. That's what's crazy about MJ, he was like prime Vince Carter jumping, speed of Allen Iverson AND the shooting of Kobe.

It did not look like a boring game to me.
When someone is a hater, they tend to not want to watch anything positive regarding the hated player. And typically find excuses, be dismissive for anything positive. It could be for Kobe, LeBron, Jordan, etc. The only thing is that he couldn't deny Jordan's athleticism in the 80s. Since he's being positive about one thing, he has to throw in a criticism of something else.
