I don't understand how people thought Trey Lance was going to be good. He played 1-AA ball and didn't play for a whole season (played the first game of the year, then opted out).

Such a lazy take on Trey Lance as a football prospect. Plenty of 1-AA players that made it to the NFL first of all. So basically you’re telling me you don’t take any athlete seriously from 1-AA. Which is crazy. Then you mention a Covid season? Not many were playing. So how is he knocked for that? My point is you didn’t give much of a breakdown to why you legitimately thought Trey Lance wouldn’t be good in the NFL. It was a very subpar take. Almost like throwing shyt against a wall hoping it stuck.

Measurables and athleticism for an NFL QB?
Accuracy and footwork in the pocket?
    Ability to read defenses?
    Work ethic?

Maybe I’m being harsh on you like you were Trey. And you have notes from what you actually saw (or didn’t see translating into the NFL) that you care to share. I’ll give that grace.

He went to the hood and helped unfortunate people. More than folks who criticize him do. Go figure. You weren’t even there to say people didn’t know who he was and had to be told. You got to be a special kind of prick to spin this story into a negative. Like I said the energy is never as loud when it’s good news.

Despite comments by former coach Eric Mangini suggesting the opposite, Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam denied Tuesday that he forced general manager Andrew Berry to draft quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the fifth round of this past spring's Draft. Haslam's comments came in a response to a reporter's question concerning a narrative that he influenced the Browns' selection of Sanders following his freefall to the fifth round of the Draft.

Mangini popularized the idea that Haslam made the call to draft Sanders. He suggested that such occurred during an appearance on FS1's First Things First just after the Draft in April. In supporting his claim, Mangini cited meddling by Haslam that led to the Browns' ill-fated decision to take another mercurial star college quarterback, Johnny Manziel, in the 2014 Draft.

Speaking to reporters for the first time since the Draft, Haslam referred a question about why the Browns drafted Sanders to Berry, only offering that they thought he was "good value" at the No. 146 pick, before a more detailed response on the idea that he had influenced the pick.

"We have good process, okay? And if you'd have told me Friday night driving home 'Y'all are gonna pick Shedeur,' I would've said that's not happening," Haslam said. "But we had a conversation early that morning, and then we had a conversation later that day, I think we had the right people involved in the conversation. At the end of the day, that's Andrew Berry's call. Andrew made the call to pick Shedeur, just like who's gonna start or what play we're gonna call is (coach Kevin Stefanski's) call. But that's Andrew's call, he made the call."

In spite of his star power as the son of Deion Sanders and projections as perhaps the top quarterback in this year's Draft, Shedeur Sanders plummeted all the way to the fifth round of the Draft after his personality and lack of professionalism in the pre-Draft process reportedly turned off teams. That included insinuations that Sanders had deliberated thrown his interviews with teams he did not want to be drafted by. Sanders' slide finally ended when the Browns -- despite having already drafted another quarterback in Dillon Gabriel-- chose him with the No. 146 overall pick.

The three-time All-Pro is entering the final year of his rookie contract and wants to become one of the highest-paid players in NFL history, but Parsons and the Cowboys have been unable to strike a deal after months of discussions.

"Yes I wanted to be here. I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmet. I wanted to play in front of the best fans in sports and make this America's team once again. The team my pops and I grew up cheering for way up in Harrisburg, PA. Unfortunately I no longer want to be here," Parsons wrote on social media. "I no longer want to be held to closed-door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization, our fans and my teammates. I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me.

On the Browns’ first depth chart of the season, they list their QBs in this order:

    1. Joe Flacco
    2. Kenny Pickett
    3. Dillon Gabriel
    4. Shedeur Sanders

Sanders was solid. Some of the throws were off/flat. But then some are on the money. Also scrambled well.

I'm totally neutral on Sanders but if he were the potential franchise QB of my favorite team, I would be alarmed that he was speeding twice in such a short span of time. Ok, he still has some growing up to do as a young man but his decision making skills are shit at this point in time, at the very least...hopefully his old man gave him an earful.

Details are very different but both were drunk and killed someone. He's been there 5 years now, he tried to appeal it last year but got denied. He's my first cousin, spend lots of time with him and his brothers as kids. Kinda drifted apart as we got older, dude was always getting in trouble, he was a hoodlum. My uncle (mom's brother) actually shot his Dad in the neck when I was a little ass kid because he was beating my aunt.
Your family from East Los, ese? From Echo Park, que no? Sounds like they ghetto af lol

Basing his decision making skills on speeding tickets? Cmon man. We have to stop exaggerating silly things like this. Guess who else was speeding? His female friend. Guess what the officer did? Let her go. No judgement on the chick or the officer they enforced the law (selectively). How ridiculous is this? He performs in his first preseason start. Crickets. He gets a speeding ticket? Lots of judgement passed. You know how many speeding f tickets were issued since Sanders was given his? You don’t care do you? Neither do I.

Myles Garrett busted for speeding. 100mph in 60mph zone. Sanders is a bad influence already!
