UPS MD-11 Plane Crash
I'm currently in a truce with Axe, so I'm curious to hear his take on this crash, since he's an airplane aficionado.
From one of the comments, "The dash camera is an ultra wide lens giving a perception things are far away. In actuality, they are far closer than it appears."

Re: UPS MD-11 Plane Crash
Tragic. Rip to all lives lost. Still folks unaccounted for. Appears this plane shouldn’t have been in service with the engine being an issue. Cracks/corrosion. Pretty sad whoever made the decision to keep it flying. Guess the pressure of the big wigs at UPS. Who knows.
From what I know the engine fell off and debris damaged the 2nd engine on the back of plane. And the wing being damaged was locked in a position of no control. This was a scenerio where nothing you could have done to save the day. Besides seeing reports that this plane should’ve been serviced or taken off the fleet.

Re: UPS MD-11 Plane Crash
That sounds exactly like what happened to American 191, still the deadliest plane crash in US history.

Re: UPS MD-11 Plane Crash
Flying is pretty crazy if you think about it. These planes have literally millions of parts and no matter how good of oversight you have, it’s realistically impossible to keep tabs on everything. I had a flight home after a bachelor party a few years ago and my flight got canceled and I had to spend an extra night. They found something seriously wrong during one of the last maintenance checks. Got me thinking that I was close to getting on a ****ed up plane.

Re: UPS MD-11 Plane Crash
I remember waiting to board a plane and announcement came over saying the flight was delayed due to mechanical problems.
Tell me fukking anything but "having mechanical problems!!".... dumb
