Amazing what is unlocked when a 3 level scorer isnt relegated to corner 3s.

Re: Detroit Pistons are 8-2.
11-2
Again, no starters last night. Only 2 regular rotation players in the starting lineup.
Bickerstaff has a pretty mid reputation, but this is what good coaching looks like.

Good thing lauri got traded to the weaker conference
NBA players just don't average 30 points on 60% true shooting unless they're the type of stars who appear on MVP ballots. Last year, only Giannis Antetokounmpo and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished above those levels. The year before, those two were joined by Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid. The only others to have completed a season like that in the past 10 years are LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard, Steph Curry and James Harden. Superduperstars, all of them.
Markkanen has many games with 40+ just this season (3) as he had in his entire career previously. His 122 points since Tuesday are the most in a 3-game span by a Jazz player since 1998, and no Jazz player since Adrian Dantley in 1985 has hit the 13-game mark with a meatier average than Lauri's current 30.6.
The real AD did it 3 times though

You forgot the major market adjustment on defense. Nobody plays any. Need to correct everyone's stats 20% downward.
You have teams not even running any pick and rolls, just blowing by their opponents because nobody can stay in front.
How did a Pistons thread become about the Jazz? Maybe you should make a new post and quote me there.

I mean, over the last 7 seasons, champions are 4 West vs 3 East.
Over last 14 seasons, 8 West vs 6 East.
There are ebbs and flows. Between 1980 and 1998 when the West only won 6 titles in 18 years, is that because the West was bad?
I think people who cry about conference disparity are under the false assumption that their middling sub .500 team would be better enough in the opposite conference to MAYBE reach the playoffs as if they had ANY chance whatsoever of winning anything, knowing WITH CERTAINTY that their team had a 100% chance of winning NOTHING.
It reminds me of years ago when people cried about their middling team having to survive the play-in as if there is any realistic chance of an 8th seed winning the title.

The best team might come from the east. Teams that dont make the play in in the west are playoff teams in the east. 1st round playoff series is tougher in west. West is better. 1999 was 27 years ago in case you were wondering.

Ah! So it's exactly what I suggested. The crybaby tantrum throwing because you might literally die before you ever see the Jazz sniff a deep playoff run and the false belief they would do any better in a different conference.
Cry more.

13-2
Hawks just went 5-0 against the west. Came home and lost to Detroit.

Re: Detroit Pistons are 8-2.
At 13-2, will the Pistons be like the top Eastern team last year, the Cavs, who shined during the Regular and then crashed in the playoffs?

Possible. But we're going to enjoy this ride for now.
