Is Lauri having the most "off-ball" 30.0+ ppg season ever?
30.6 ppg on 62.5% TS. 77.7% of his made 2PT FGs have been assisted; 92.3% of his made 3PT FGs, too. That's crazy. He's like a 7-foot Klay on offense out there. Big and athletic enough to do things at the rim. He's still the only player in NBA history to have a 100+ dunk, 200+ 3PM season (2022-23).
Is this the most assisted 30 a game ever? Should Detroit trade for him? Goddamn, he'd fit like a glove.

Jazz may be looking to trade for someone to pair with him if anything. Not sure who is worthy of their assets? They have over 40 mill in expiring vet contracts. Young guys picks. 18 mill trade exemption cap space...

It is too bad they didnt have the foresight to keep their best player and just trade the guy that didnt fit mitchell. foresight has never been in their tool bag though

Jaden Ivey, who has been out nearly a full calendar year because of a broken left fibula, was just assigned to the G League, meaning his return to action is imminent. How he fits with a team that has learned to function without him, but one that can certainly use his talents, speed and shooting, will be interesting to watch. There's an internal desire to see this group together before pressing the fast-forward button, but ownership, sources told ESPN, isn't afraid of making a large commitment should the front office come with a proposal. Seeing if Ivey makes a star leap similar to Duren's will be fascinating, especially as the Pistons will know more about themselves through the remainder of 2025, with a difficult West Coast trip coming at the end of December.

Actually, what I see is a West where the terrible tanking Jazz are slated to make the play-in FIVE (5) games under .500, while the Boston Celtics are even at .500 and 11th in the East. Seems quite flip flopped from this bad assumption you made, at least so far.

Poor defender, terrible rebounder, non-existent passer, he's not going to be a vocal leader, and he has no playoff experience in 8+ years.
To give up the sky and the moon is too risky if you're expected by the Jazz to empty the bank of assets on him, hoping he's the final piece to a championship team. Reminds me a lot of Kevin Love on Minnesota -- good player, but ultimately can only be the 3rd option on an actual contender, never a 1st or 2nd option.
To make Lauri feasible, he needs to be flanked defensively by Thompson and Duren.
