Dem Eric Swalwell says you should be able to vote by phone
Rep. Eric Swalwell says people should be able to vote by phone in elections after launching his gubernatorial bid in California.
“If we can do our taxes, make our healthcare appointments, you know, essentially do your banking online, you should be able to vote by phone."

GEE, WONDER WHY ???? Of course board Dems will say it has nothing to do with making it even easier for Illegals to vote.

The wireless phone system is incredibly non secure.
Banking, cashless payments, email and certainly voting shouldn’t be on a phone.

Those things are allowed via phone. You just have to prove it is you. Sometimes using a 2-step.
In theory, one social security number = 1 vote. Wether it is by phone or any other method shouldn't matter. Can someone steal your SS# and cast an illegal vote in your name? Maybe, but that issue exists in every method of voting.

I didn’t say they weren't allowed on the phone. It’s that we as individuals should not, because it is easily hacked by almost anyone, and is free for the taking once it leaves your phone.
Nothing is secure in the wireless system.

They can make it hard to hack but what method is 100% though?
I am against the phone idea for other reasons, mainly I just don't think that voting should be easy for anyone. If you don't care enough to drive down the street, get out of your car, and mark a ballot, then you probably shouldn't be voting at all. When things get too easy, then we will see lots of troll votes from idiots who don't care either way.

Plus, the losing side would cry about it being rigged after every election if people were allowed to vote on phones. I agree, if you can't make it to the polls, you don't care enough about voting. As a sidebar though, election day should be a holiday so people don't miss it due to work.

Polling stations are (or at least should be) open 12+ hrs. Mine opens at 6:30am until 7pm. Unless you have a shitty work shift, that should ample enough time to get your vote in....... legally.

In theory that's true, but there's really no functional reason why elections have to be held on a Tuesday when the majority of eligible voters have to work. It's based off some criteria from the 1800's about how long it would take people to travel by horse or some shit, completely irrelevant to 2025
It's only logical imo to have election day be on a day when everyone has off.

All you idiots thinking you vote in a booth during an election are idiots.
Straight up.
You vote with your Netflix subscription, your car insurance, whether you drive or not, what YouTube channels you watch, which farm you buy your food from, etc.
Quit acting like children and idiots.
Be men.

The only way to do it with the day off is to pay people to have the day off. Then company's would bitch aboutb it cause why pay someone 8hrs for something that's altogether gonna take less than a half hour. Then if they don't pay people for the day off, you'll have workers bitching about not needing a full day without pay just for something that takes less than a half hour.
