Who is the stud player in Coach Carter based on?
In the Samuel L Jackson movie Coach Carter, there is a player at a school called St Francis that Coach Carter's highschool team plays against. On that St. Francis team is a guy named Ty Crane who the announcers say is the next Lebron James and a future NBA number one pick. Coach Carters team is in Richmond California so I assume Ty Crane played in some prep school up in norcal too.
Now I know coach carter is a movie, but at the end it says that it is based on a true story, and it tells about which college all the players on coach carters team played for.
So if Coach Carter is a true story and the people in it are real, which player is the guy Ty Crane supposed to be?

Wait, the movie is supposed to take place in the 98/99 season, but the announcers call him "the next Lebron James"? That doesn't seem to make sense.

Why would they say "next LeBron James" in the 98/99 season?
LeBron was like 12 years old then...

i know, the real story took place in 98/99
the movie is set in 2004
its wierd-i think the script writer just put that so we would realize he was a highschool phenom-even tho lebron wasnt getting media attention back then its for the audience now.
Tyson Chandler that sounds good but would a highschool team from Richmond play a highschool team from Compton? They played once preseason and then once in the state tournament

Who the hell is Wayne Oliver? Was he as good as Lance Stephenson thinks he is? If so, why is he not already a hall-of-famer?

I googled him, and he didnt have the smarts to go to a D1 school.
But he did play overseas at one point, and he has played in the NBDL, ABA, IBL, and had private workouts with the Warriors.
