Smart Gilas Serbian Tour
Smart Gilas actually absorbed a twin setback late last week after Vrsac Hemofarm, the second-best ballclub in the Serbian League, whipped the Nationals, 98-67.
A pair of 7-footers, including a 7-5 skyscraper, relentlessly pummeled Gilas in the paint and sent the RP dribblers to their third defeat in four games in their Belgrade training stint.
“Just when we thought the competition can’t get tougher, we learned we will be playing Partizan Team A on Monday,” said Tiu.
Partizan, the Serbian League’s No. 1 team, has reached the Final Four of the Euro League.
Gilas lost to Mettalac Vallevo, 76-86, in its Serbian debut, pulled off a 91-84 stunner over Division I-bound SuperFund and lost to OKK Beograd in a 79-80 decision prior to Vrsac.
Gilas badly needs a tall and talented naturalized player to boost its campaign in this year’s Asian Games in Guangzhou and the 2011 FIBA Asia Championship, the qualifier for the 2012 London Oympics.

Coach Rajko Toroman is one of the best coaches in Asia. I still believe that someday the Philippine National Basketball Team would play in the FIBA World Championship & Olympics.
Smart Gilas Team are currently training in the US for a series of exhibition games against some American Basketball Association teams.

Re: Official Philippines National Team Thread (Smart Gilas)
What I Hate Bout' The Philippines is , They Can't Play there own players.
Like , They Need To Recruit Someone From The U.S. To Dominate The Game.
David Noel - 6'6 - Former Player Of Milwaukee Bucks, Position SF.
And Now.
Whatever Team He's Playing On , Ginebra?
When I Went Back to The Philippines for vacation and 1st time I Saw him In PBA , I was Like WTF?
Why Can't Be Philippines be Philippines? Be Proud Of there Own Players!
And Plus , They Use The Same Court All The Time!
So You Cant Really Tell Who's Home-Court it is.
I mean , With all that technology now , they can buy there own stadium?
PBA Needs To Be Strict bout that..
I Know What You all gonna say bout this.. They aint rich like the NBA , They Can be If They Start Doing Whats right. See what im sayin?
Its Pathetic.
No Offense to all filipino's. But This Could be a message to the PBA and the President.
