Re: BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Sloan to resign!!!
So i assume Ty Corbin gets his shot?
Far as the extension he just signed, it's severance for all his years of service, there's nothing shady about it.

Two coaches that've left their organizations following a Bulls game now.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Sloan to resign!!!
It's just been reported on ESPN just a minute ago about the speculation of him resigning.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Sloan to resign!!!
My first though was its a joke, my 2nd thought - its still a joke It makes no sense whatsoever, he is one of the best coaches in NBA, his team is doing well (slight slump is nothing new).

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Sloan to resign!!!
Rumors swirling the he quit specifically to coach the Pacers next year, taking the rest of the year to get his things in order.
No, but seriously, guy's 68, been coaching for a bazillion years, he'll never coach again right? Just wouldn't seem right sitting on a different team's bench.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Sloan to resign!!!
SLC Dunk guys seem to think Deron had something to do with it, guess he'd been making subtle jabs at Sloan all year.
Between an owner that apparently won't spend money, losing a coaching legend, and the best PG in the league bolting in 2 years probably, the Jazz may've just entered a very long era of irrelevance.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Sloan to resign!!!
This is quite the shocker. Sad to see him go. Great coach and great mind. He really got the most he possibly could out of the the teams he coached. I think he got the most out of Deron and Boozer given Boozer inept consistency to be injured and their total lack of size. He was right there with Stockton and Malone but MJ stood in his way. The guy has been around forever, and at his age, a year round bball season takes its strain. I am still a bit perplexed on the timing of this...was he just tired of it all?

More than likely, the man is 69 in a month and despite having a good team it doesn't look like a championship year for them.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Jerry Sloan to resign!!!
Other than being completely shocked (!) I am actually sad to hear this bit of news. I just can't imagine ANYONE but Jerry Sloan coaching the Jazz, but it is more than that; I think I am already feeling like a part of the old NBA that made me fall in luv with Basketball has died if Sloan steps down.
I am a Bulls fan, but uh, I really don't want this to be true. Sloan is a different breed, his longevity, work-ethic, and sound Basketball principals will be sorely missed by this fan of the game.
