I would also contend that this particular endorsement is more politically motivated than just a source of campaign donations. Trump, despite being a complete joke, does have some political sway amongst the far, far right lunies who back the whole birther thing among other absurd notions.

Romney accepting that endorsement on a stage with Trump was in-part an appeal to that segment fundamentalist retards. When you accept such an endorsement from that kind of person in that kind of setting, you do tie yourself to him, for better or worse.

Well thank God his holy highness St. Obama has never been associated with any shady characters. Amen.
