And you're allowed to take a step before you dribble. He catches the ball, his right foot is his pivot foot, he steps towards the hoop with his left foot (legal), and puts the ball on the floor. He takes 1-2 steps during the dribble, gathers the ball, then takes 2 steps and finishes.

LeBron gets away with travels, no doubt, but this is hardly the play you're going to call an NBA player for traveling.

This is an outsider view, even here in europe, they wouldnt call that a travel.
I don't know where in Europe you're from but that's a massive travel in Europe. I would know, I've played for the swedish youth national team and in the highest league in Sweden. I've gotten a ton of travelling calls like that.

It was a travel and you just shot yourself in the foot.

When you have to use college ball as a reference, you know the argument is over.

You can't be serious, I know that you have LeBron's ball in your throat but a step before a dribble on a drive to the basket? Are you serious?

You are allowed to establish a pivot foot, and step as many times as you want with the other foot as long as you begin to dribble before you lift your pivot foot. The idea that you can't move either foot before dribbling is incorrect.

What most people need to understand is thats a TRAVEL
however that said in a NBA game i have never seen such travels get called especially at the end of the regulation.Thats not about lebron,i have never seen any player get called and millwad you are allowed to establish your pivot foot.

As i said before MJ did this regularly actually he was famous for it,Get the ball quick spin move most of the time before he starts to dribble his pivot foot leaves the floor which is what happened here.
