I hope not because that would suck. The Nolan Batman Trilogy was the best Batman ever and one of the greatest films in the decade.
No it is another Batman.

I am leaving my criticism until the movie is actually released. I am not doing any criticism until then. What's the worse that could happen, that Affleck do a Clooney impersonation? As long as the writer of Batman and RObin and Schummagger (whatever his name is) is not directing everything will be fine.
Affleck doesn't have the acting chops that either Ledger or Bale have. Btw, I don't remember the Bale casting being controversial. Ledger had tons of fans crying, but I didn't remember "soft" being the criticism.

Batman Begins is his best Batman movie. Ledger carried the Dark Knight without Heath it's just an average batman movie.

I said soft because I couldn't think of another word to use.
But here's an example:
One of the reasons I am reserving my opinions for after I see the movie. Heath was awesome and nobody expected him to be any good as the Joker. I would at least give him the benefit of the doubt after ARGO.

Like I said, I was well aware of the outcry on Ledger. But Ledger had already shown range. Affleck can act well, but he doesn't have range. I can actually see him as a decent Bruce, but I struggle to imagine him as Batman. That said, Batman doesn't really require a wide range.

I think they offered Bale like $50 million

People are overrating the character of Batman by a lot. Batman is pretty much your 70 or 80 dark brooding killer (who doesn't kill) so you can do a movie with Batman not talking at all and it could work. Batman is pretty much a Ninja.
Bruce Wayne has a lot of facets to him, like the playboy to the sad kid, to silent expression when his parents are concerned and a lot more. Affleck has proven he can personified multi facet characters.
Batman is an overrated character to personify IMO, Bruce is the character harder to act like.

It's literally impossible for this movie not to completely suck on epic levels...
I'm actually upset this is getting made as I fear it is going to leave a bad taste in everyone's mouth about comic book based movies in general and just kill the entire genre for a couple decades...
would be really happy if they just scrapped the whole thing...

It's not like the market isn't already saturated with superhero flicks.
